Chapter 15 - Only wants his body

Au Arrogan stepped into the house, but just as he was about to fully enter, a young woman approached him with a bright smile on her face. "Broth—"

"Please be quiet; I'll announce myself later when the time is right." He interrupted her, silencing her words before she could finish. With determination, he ascended the winding staircase, taking two steps at a time, his focus unwavering as he left her behind. In his arms, he carried his still-sleeping wife, cradling her gently as he made his way upward, the weight of the moment pressing on him as he moved through the dimly lit hallway.

If his wife woke up unhappy, he would never let this fool go!

Hurrying up the stairs to his rooms, Au Arrogan entered and closed the door, ignoring the servants, who were doing some last-minute tidying. He couldn't understand why his father allowed her in the main house; she already had her own apartment and received monthly money. Fortunately, the floor where he and his wife stayed was free of those two; otherwise, he would have exploded with anger.

After carefully laying his wife down on the bed, he took his time undressing her while his mind wandered to the events that awaited him the following day.

He carefully grabbed a few soft cotton cloths from the nearby drawer, then made his way to the sink where he filled it with cool water and added a small amount of liquid soap. After soaking the cloths thoroughly in the soapy water, he took one out, wrung it out with a firm twist to remove the excess moisture, and then made his way back to the room.

He gently used a warm cloth to clean her, making sure to change it several times to ensure she felt comfortable and cared for. Once he was satisfied that she was clean, he dressed her in light sleepwear, choosing soft fabric that would allow her to rest peacefully. Typically, in a situation like this, he would have taken advantage of the circumstances for his own benefit, but tonight was different. He had learned some valuable lessons that would stay with him, shaping his actions and thoughts as he moved forward.

Vin Baisti is an alternate version of himself, existing in a different timeline that diverges from the one he originally came from. A low desolated chuckle escaped Au Arrogan, his mind was a mess.

When Au Arrogan first uncovered this shocking truth, he found himself engulfed in confusion and disbelief. Overcome by his emotions, he foolishly confronted Vin, unaware of the real implications of what he had discovered. For reasons that were not entirely clear to him at the moment, he suddenly began to regain a flood of memories that crashed into his consciousness like waves in a raging sea, some of which were his own and others that belonged to another version of himself—the 'them' that existed in the alternate realities.

In that overwhelming moment, he was left unable to think clearly for an extended period, as the sheer volume of experiences and feelings assailed him relentlessly, forcing him into a state of disorientation. He realized far too late that the prospect of being reborn into a new life, coupled with the extraordinary ability to read some of his wife's innermost thoughts, would indeed present both challenges and complications he had not fully expected.

He, Au Arrogan is a person of considerable education and intellect. While his wife was actively competing, he dedicated his time to furthering his studies and expanding his knowledge base. Being three years her senior and endowed with a notably high IQ, and blessed with rebirth, Au Arrogan managed to achieve more in a relatively brief period than many people typically accomplish in their entire lives.

Before he was reborn, Au Arrogan devoted his efforts to the field of home decor, immersing himself in the aesthetics and intricacies of interior design. He did well with the help of his wife, but also a woman who was a great designer. However, in this new life, he has made a conscious decision to take on a more supportive role for his wife, stepping out of the shadows to actively participate in her journey rather than remaining passive.

He has no choice. Au Arrogan became increasingly aware that many males admired his wife and only understood fully why after understanding everything.

To that end, he has launched a business within the fitness industry, focusing particularly on nutrition and wellness, aiming to spend more time with her and have both his success and failure fully depend on her. It worked, except those who worked for him seemed to only care about her and not him as their boss.

He still thought life was good except now he was not too sure.

Now he has a memory that was driving him almost insane. He lived so long in that timeline, she was by his side but—

A massive hand came to cover his strikingly handsome face, a reflex to shield himself from the sensory overload. As those waves of memories continued to crash over him, he struggled to separate the identities that were intertwining within his mind. So many versions of himself surfaced at once, each one encapsulating different experiences, choices, and emotions, all colliding together in an intricate web of existence that incredibly complicated his understanding of who he was meant to be.

In fact, Au Arrogan just wanted to hold his wife and never let go, but could he?

If those selves from other timelines were really him, what can he do? His wife wanted to divorce him at every turn and only wants his body.

Au Arrogan stepped closer to the enormous painting that depicted a smiling woman, whose kind and loving eyes seemed to radiate warmth and affection. The sight of her expression stirred deep emotions within him, overwhelming him to the point where his vision began to blur. As he stood there, captivated by the artwork, he felt an odd sensation, as if he were being transported to a place that was both strangely familiar yet intriguingly unfamiliar. It was as though he were caught in a vivid dream, where memories intertwined with the present, evoking a sense of nostalgia that both comforted and bewildered him.
