Chapter 13 - Big Buddha

Fuck! where did he pop up from ruining my domineering image?

Can I give up this husband now?

He was so domineering a moment ago and after I said a few superfluous words he said such a thing.

I am so tired, my brain is so tired.

This situation was also delicate, because the woman before me is powerful, look at the drama that occurred before I had even spoken to her directly.

"Miss, please—" She attempted once again, I could not! Will not! No! just No!

"Husband, please pay the bill and take me home; I'm tired. Manager Vin, remember that the information needs to be securely delivered, and the schedule for the upcoming events must be coordinated with my husband," I said, standing tall. "Yes," they replied in unison as I gracefully left, leaving behind the frail woman and the small crowd. I paused and added, "If my reputation is damaged—intentionally or unintentionally—because of this farce, remember that I am a big Buddha."

Enough is enough okay, even kittens have claws and puppies bite. It may not hurt now but over time…

Those who were ignorant were confused but those who were in the know were terrified. A few recognized me not just as the famed Confessions, but as the eldest granddaughter of the Fe family.

The grand matriarch dotes on me, and all major families respect me. Even some foreign nobles acknowledge my status and give me due face.

One must know how to make an exit like a boss.

Thirty minutes later, the three of us were seated in the spacious back seat of Vin's private car, with the personal driver in front. "We're heading to the main house for a while," my husband announced after a moment. I looked out the window, nodding slightly deep in thought.

The main house of the Au family, is located in close proximity to the Fe family, which is one of the eight prominent families residing on the vast expanse of land. While it is common for most people to mention only four or five of these families when discussing the area, there are actually three additional families that are not as well-known to the general public. Furthermore, there is one family that has a connection to the Au family through marriage, adding another layer to the intricate relationships among these noteworthy families.

The Fe family, my family, occupied the central and largest house. The main house has ten wings, with the lower level featuring an indoor garden, pool, fitness center, dining room, semi-dining room, three kitchens, and a guest room. The upper level contains a library and study, while the remaining spaces consist of apartments, with the top being the master wing.

For the Au family, I must now return there and see the face of the stepmother, yes, stepmother, the father and adopted sister.

The first wife of the Au family tragically passed away during childbirth, leaving a profound impact on the family dynamics. Father Au, deeply engrossed in his many responsibilities and obligations, found himself unable to devote time or attention to young master Au. As a result, the young boy was primarily raised by servants and his grandfather, who took on the role of caregiver in the absence of his father's presence. When master Au reached the age of four, Father Au decided to remarry, choosing his current wife, and with this new union, he began to take a more active role in caring for his son.

My poor stupid husband called that woman mother like a fool blinded by her ambitions. Well, a mother always wants what's best for her child, but she must have some reason Au Arrogan is the only child of the woman from an equally famous family.

Except, after he disappeared, a young girl appeared several years younger than him. Father Au is never home and there is saying; if men can do it, a woman can to.

What a sneaky bitch.

Shoving the thoughts aside I looked outside which had already begun to become dark. The two-hour drive will take some time. I leaned aside, closed my eyes, and drifted into a deep sleep.

On the other side, the two men exchanged glances; one belonged to the Au family and the other to the Vin family. Both families were prominent in C country and had influence in various parts of the world.

"That woman, she must be taken care of so she does not jump in front of Storyia again."

"Of course, she is my wife and my responsibility."

"Arrogan, I sincerely apologize; it is indeed my fault," Vin Baisti said softly, bowing his head with narrowed eyes. In the business world, some are ruthless—Au is not, but Vin can be swift and cruel when he acts. Au, on the other hand, is lazy and operates behind the scenes on a smaller scale, yet he shares a similar nature.

Vin Baisti had been aware of Au Arrogan since the moment he arrived in this new body he inhabited, yet he remained completely oblivious to the fact that Au Arrogan had been reborn.

Much like Vin Baisti himself, Au Arrogan had witnessed glimpses of the future prior to his own death, a shared experience that connected their fates in ways Vin was only beginning to comprehend.

With this knowledge, Vin Baisti began to sense something amiss but dared not explore it further. The concept of rebirth was absurd; existing in another body alongside his parallel self was already strange—what if there were even more versions of himself out there? And then there was the matter of his wife. In a hushed voice, Au quietly murmured, "She wants to leave me." Vin Baisti remained silent, uncertain of how to respond. He knew that saying the wrong thing could provoke Au Arrogan, whose instability made Vin cautious, especially with Storyia present.

The vehicle itself remained enveloped in an oppressive silence, a stark contrast to the internal turmoil each of them faced. Each person sat lost in their own labyrinth of private thoughts, desperately wishing to communicate yet unable to summon the necessary words to break the heavy atmosphere surrounding them. If they speak, one who should not hear may hear and that is all another danger in of itself.
