Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Amethyst

A long time ago, during the time of the Norse Chronicles, there stood a great war that dictated the future of the nine realms, including Asgard.

Time flew until Odin sacrificed his left eye in exchange for grand absolute knowledge akin to the Akashic records, which enabled him to glimpse into the past, the future, and everything that would or was supposed to happen.

Odin, the son of Bor, was now revered by the name "the All-Knowing Father" as he led Asgard to dominate rule across the nine realms.

There he saw the end, which was an impending doom brought by the rise of Surtur's eternal flame that would destroy all the gods and other realms.

Odin looked into countless possible futures, yet he still ended up in failure until one day he finally realized that the only way to stop Surtur was for him to sacrifice himself along with Surtur.

Before Ragnarok could begin, Odin, along with ten thousand knights and Valkyries, battled against Surtur before he could reclaim his eternal flame.

Years later, Thor also decided to sacrifice one of his eyes for knowledge, as he wanted to surpass or achieve the same feat his father did.

Thor eventually saw the rise of Loki, who would bring doom to all ether. Loki is the god of fire and trickery; he was also capable of harnessing the forbidden power called anti-ether, a power that could lead to Ragnarok.

Just as his father did, Thor used everything he had to destroy Loki and managed to subdue him before his anti-ether could grow more.

With no one left to succeed the throne, Freyja and Sif decided to rule Asgard, but it didn't take long until Hela, the goddess of death and daughter of Loki, wreaked havoc across all the realms. Freyja and Sif were left with no choice but to sacrifice themselves to destroy her.

With no one left to succeed the throne, Heimdall, along with his Bifrost sword, served as the new ruler of Asgard for countless millennia. Little did he know that upon his rulership, a single dark elf was heading his way for Ragnarok.

Heimdall thought that the Frost Giants were a greater threat during his rulership, so he basically let all the other gods go with him to Jotunheim until they eventually eliminated all the Frost Giants, resulting in Heimdall being crippled and the Bifrost sword being nearly destroyed.

Now, as he decided to visit Mimir's well, located at the bottom of the World Tree, to sacrifice his eyes in exchange for knowledge, the scene left him in chaos when Yggdrasil was killed by the Dark Elves because of the ongoing conflict against the High Elves, which left the High Elves on the brink of extinction.

Heimdall then led a new batch of gods and recruited other beings from other realms to join him in annihilating the dark elves from Svartálfheim.

As the war was going on, a single dark elf, later to be known as Amethyst, single-handedly came to Asgard to destroy every single god and make Asgard his first target.

This dark elf was actually the one behind the closed doors all along, lurking deep within the echoes of darkness. He carefully constructed his plans to lure Heimdall into his trap.

First, he used his ethereal runes to mind-control every dark elf he encountered, to the point of using them as pawns for his grand plan. His mind manipulation was so close to perfection that, after completion, they became mindless puppets, deterred as extensions of his absolute will.

He instructed them to attack the World Tree while he would find a way to ambush Mimir into submission.

Mimir, having already guessed his outcome, didn't even resist being used as cannon fodder to meet Yggdrasil.

Yggdrasil was stunned, having been betrayed by Mimir, whom he revered as his close ally. Amethyst then detonated the time bomb he planted among the dark elves, including Mimir, at the center of the World Tree, which was also one of the capabilities of the eternal flame mixed with Amethyst's ethereal runes.

Amethyst learned how to harness both anti-ether and ethereal magic at will. He then manipulated both powers to absorb the eternal flame, which later altered his aura into a malevolent one.

Harnessing anti-ether, which was a god-killer power, he used it to kill every other god and absorb their life force against their will, making his powers grow at an alarming rate.

The moment Heimdall annihilated the dark elves living in Svartálfheim, he retreated back to Asgard to stabilize his powers and heal his heavy injuries. But fate seemed to play tricks on him after he used the Bifrost sword to get back to Asgard faster than the rest.

All Asgardians living in Asgard were no more to be seen; it was just like the prophecy of Ragnarok, the doom and destruction of all gods.

When he came face to face with the one sitting on his supposed throne, he saw a being with long pointy ears, a tan skin tone, and majestic facial proportions that would enchant other beings if it weren't for the cold malevolent aura he radiated.

He was Amethyst, a half-human and half-dark elf hybrid, gripping a blade entirely made of absolute darkness.

Then, before Heimdall could speak, the blade managed to slash his neck without difficulty. Amethyst then absorbed Heimdall's ether, making his powers skyrocket even more, and picked up his Bifrost sword.

Amethyst was kind of interested in the Bifrost sword's capabilities, having the ability to transport any being across different realms for convenience.

Finally, he decided to fuse his blade and the Bifrost sword, forming a new kind of weapon, a weapon that could help him hunt and kill more creatures as he pleased.

Later, at the vault, he saw a golden spear radiating a much more powerful aura. It didn't take Amethyst a minute to fuse Gungnir from his soul-bound blade, enabling it to change shapes similar to the Bifrost sword and a spear, but the aura was much more sinister than its predecessor.

There were also other available weapons in the vault, and Amethyst didn't spend a minute finally fusing them with his blade.

The blade was not just like any other soul-bound weapon; it was also a weapon made from a fragment of Amethyst's soul, meaning as long as Amethyst was alive, the blade would also never disappear.

Some time later, Amethyst found an interesting object resisting fusion; it was Mjolnir.

A weapon solely handcrafted by thousands of dwarves over a thousand years, led by Singri, it was made from the finest and rarest metal called orichalcum.

Also called the metal of the gods, it was now in Amethyst's possession as he finally managed to subdue it into forcibly accepting him as its master, deeming him worthy like Thor.

After the blade absorbed Mjolnir, Amethyst's strength greatly increased, as he could finally shoot out black lightning bolts whenever he desired.

The blade, being a fragment of Amethyst's soul, came back to its soul form and into Amethyst's soul.

Amethyst could now summon billions of dark Bifrost swords, billions of dark Mjolnirs, and billions of dark Gungnir spears at will into the air as his powers grew at an alarming rate.

After taking care of the rest of the Asgardian gods, Amethyst began his domination across all the other eight realms until the day he died and reincarnated into Larry Croft's body.

As he vowed to reclaim his former glory.....or so he thought.
