Leandra stood up and calmly walked around the table to stand in front of Eira, staring at her as if she were looking at a mere nuisance—something insignificant yet unexpectedly challenging. Her gaze was icy, sizing up Eira with contempt and ridicule.
"When I heard that you'd changed after your accident, I ignored it because it was insignificant. Whether or not you changed didn't matter to me. Besides, how different can you become? But now…" Her eyes trailed down Eira's body and back up again. "You are nothing like the foolish girl I knew. Definitely not in appearance."
Eira tilted her head. "Is that a compliment?" Then she pouted. "Sorry, but I don't accept compliments from a nasty-mouthed woman like you." With that, she walked around the table and sat down.
