"Hey, how are you doing? Those stupid fuckers didn't hurt you, did they?" Jania asked, her tone laced with concern.

Eira smirked, shaking her head. "No, they didn't. They just wanted to ask some questions. Besides, if they had, do you think I would've told Lyle to stop whatever he was going to do?" She tilted her head slightly, her smirk turning sharper. "I'm not that kind, Jania, so you don't have to worry."

Jania sighed in relief, though her expression still held traces of guilt. "That's good to know, but I'm sorry. I didn't tell you Herrera was investigating you because I thought he wouldn't dare come near you. Clearly, I underestimated the bastard." Her jaw tightened as she spat the last word.

"It's alright," Eira replied dismissively. "It's over now. But what about Reed? How's he doing?"

"Reed's fine. More than fine, actually. Herrera knows his limits; he wouldn't dare hurt one of Master Aelion's men intentionally."
