Chapter 61 - Aizawa x Y/N

The sun began to set over U.A. High School, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple as Shota Aizawa, known to the world as Eraserhead, completed his latest shift as a pro hero. He walked alongside his girlfriend, Y/N, whose hero name was Majest. Together they had just cleared a particularly exhausting day of patrol, their bodies craving relaxation and their minds eager to unwind together.

Y/N brushed a strand of hair behind her ear as they ambled down the bustling streets of Musutafu. Streets filled with chatter, laughter, and the sounds of life winding down for the day. Shota walked with his usual unhurried demeanor, hands in his pockets, a slight frown creasing his brow — one he reserved for the world when it demanded too much of him. Yet, when he side-glanced at Y/N, a soft smile tugged at his lips, almost imperceptible but unmistakably there.

Suddenly, Y/N stopped, her bright eyes glimmering with excitement as she pointed to a cozy little café tucked between two taller buildings. A wooden sign hung above the entrance, its letters curving into an inviting script: "Cat Café Neko Paradise."

"Oh look! A cat café! Can we go, please?" she exclaimed, practically bouncing on her heels.

Shota raised an eyebrow, caught slightly off guard by her enthusiasm. "Is that really necessary? We just finished a long shift." His tone was dry, but he couldn't ignore the way her eyes sparkled with the promise of joy.

Y/N pouted, a playful twist forming on her lips. "Come on, Shota! Just one hour! They have cats, Shota! And I'll even say it's research for our hero duties. Cats inevitably calm people down, you know?"

After a moment's pause, Shota let out a soft sigh, conceding to her whims. "Fine. Just for a little while," he replied, his voice smooth but almost resigned. He could never say no to her when she pleaded that way.

Hand in hand, they entered the café, greeted by a warm ambiance, the sound of soft purring, and dozens of playful cats wandering freely through the space. Plush seating arrangements were interspersed with various feline-friendly towers and toys, making it a cozy haven. Y/N's eyes widened in delight as they stepped inside; she quickly found a small table by the window, the sunlight casting a golden glow across the surface.

"Look at all of them! They're so cute!" she exclaimed, her voice nearly vibrating with glee.

Shota, with his usual calm demeanor, leaned back into his chair, crossing his arms as he watched Y/N's joy unfold. One chubby grey cat with striking green eyes approached their table, its tail held high in curiosity. Y/N squealed, immediately extending her hand to pet the fluffy creature.

"Hey there, buddy!" she said, her voice softening. The cat rubbed its head against her palm, and she smiled as if she had just discovered a secret treasure.

Shota's posture relaxed further as he watched Y/N interact with the cat. The tension of the day melted away like ice under the warm sun. He couldn't deny the appeal of the café atmosphere, the world outside fading into nothingness as tranquility enveloped them.

"Do you think you'd ever want a cat?" Y/N asked, looking back at him with a brightness that outshone the warm glow of the café.

Aizawa paused, contemplating. "With our schedules? They need more attention than we could give." His tone was laced with reality, but there was an unfamiliar softness in his gaze.

Y/N pouted, a playful smile teasing her lips. "You mean you wouldn't take care of a cat? I could totally manage."

Shota couldn't help but let out a light chuckle. "Yeah, right. You'd be the one sleeping all day."

"Only if I have a cat to cuddle with!" she quipped, her laughter bubbling like effervescent champagne.

As they chatted, time slipped through their fingers, and every scratch behind the ear of the purring cat drew them closer together. Eventually, Y/N leaned back in her chair, satisfaction radiating from her. She glanced over at Shota, whose rare smile had transformed the atmosphere around them.

"Thank you for agreeing to come here. It's been too long since we could just relax," she said, her expression turning a touch serious, yet still sparkling with joy.

Shota, scratching behind the cat's ears with long, deliberate strokes, replied, "You bring out the best parts of my day, you know? Even in a café filled with cats, all I really need is you."

He didn't often say things like that, and the warmth of those words wrapped around Y/N like a cherished blanket. She smiled softly, leaning across the table to place her hand over his.

And in that small café, surrounded by the sounds of playful meows and gentle purrs, the duo found a quiet moment together that washed away the remnants of the chaos they often faced as pro heroes. For a while, they were just Y/N and Shota — no titles, no battles, just love, laughter, and the lingering scent of feline companionship. The world outside could wait; inside this little haven, they were home.
