[Warning: There will be a lot of bloodshed and violence in this chapter. Also, I used Naruto elements, mainly because it is the first anime I ever got to finish watching.]
"RRRAAAARGH!"
Clang! Clang!
I found myself locked in a deadlock with my opponent, carefully gauging his power level. In wars like this, it's always better to assess your enemy's strength compared to your own, and that's exactly what I was doing.
My evaluation revealed something amazing yet mildly disappointing.
'So this is all a high-class devil can do? I can't blame him. I had the best mentors this life can offer.'
As this thought crossed my mind, I delivered a swift, precise cut across his midriff.
He stood still, seemingly unscathed, but before he could retaliate, I leapt away, narrowly avoiding a fire attack aimed at me. Taking a brief moment, I finally got a clear look at my opponent. With a burst of speed that even I found exhilarating, I closed the gap and struck, my blade moving faster than he could react. In an instant, his head rolled to the ground, his lifeless body crumpling moments later.
I didn't pause to admire my work. Charging forward, I set my sights on my next target. He swung his spear downward in an attempt to halt my advance, but I countered differently this time. Redirecting the force of his strike with a swift movement, I drove my fist into his midsection.
BOOM!
The impact unleashed a shockwave, sending several nearby devils flying. Some were left dazed, momentarily stunned by the force. I seized the opportunity without hesitation, slashing through them with my Zanpakutō as if they were lambs led to slaughter.
Blood soaked my body, its metallic scent thick in the air. It clung to me, unnerving yet grounding. This was war, and in war, there is no room for hesitation.
"Fall back! Notify the superior—he's a high-class warrior!" one of the devils shouted in panic. But I wasn't going to allow that.
Charging up a series of crimson Ki blasts, I hurled them at the retreating troops before they had the chance to regroup.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The explosions rippled through the battlefield, engulfing the fleeing devils in a fiery storm. My objective was clear: eliminate as many enemy soldiers as possible to tilt the numbers in our favor and boost morale.
In the chaos, a devil attempted to catch me off guard with a sneak attack. I sidestepped his clumsy move with ease, catching his wrist in a firm grip. A sphere of spinning, crimson energy formed in my other hand, pulsating with destructive intent.
"Horo Rasengan!" I growled, driving the attack into his chest. The dark crimson sphere detonated with a blinding flash, obliterating not only the target but several devils caught in its devastating radius.
A flash of blue energy swept through the battlefield, cutting down enemy after enemy. I glanced over to see my mother unleashing her signature move.
Her Kamehameha beam tore through the enemy ranks with precision. Although her full power could reduce a mountain to rubble, she had toned it down to conserve energy. Even so, the attack was devastating..
The lessons sure bore fruit.
The atmosphere around me shifted as I sensed a fluctuation of Mana. My eyes darted to the source. In a heartbeat, I felt the presence of another devil closing in. Before he could strike, I shot my hand forward, gripping his neck firmly.
Crack!
His lifeless body fell to the ground.
'Not that I had any mercy,' I thought grimly.
Suddenly, the warped cackling of a familiar voice echoed in my mind.
"That's my host! You're finally growing into the warrior I always knew you could be," the voice sneered with twisted satisfaction.
I rolled my eyes inwardly. 'Sometimes having a battle maniac in your head really has its downsides,'
My focus snapped back to the battlefield as I raised my sword to counter the incoming strike of another devil. This one carried an axe and wasted no time charging at me.
I stepped to the left, narrowly evading his swing, and retaliated with my blade. My attack cut through the air, but he jumped back just in time, narrowly avoiding the strike.
Here's the refined version of your text:
"That's the first time someone reacted in time today," I muttered, not giving him a moment to rest. My eyes focused on his silver hair. Lucifer or Lucifuge? I've never seen this man in canon before, I thought.
I swung my sword low, aiming for his legs. He jumped to the right and countered by bringing his weapon down toward my shoulder. I decided to test something out.
Dodging to his right, I dashed forward, catching him off guard. My hand crackled with lightning, the sound of a thousand birds chirping filling the battlefield.
"Chidori!" I shouted, thrusting my hand toward his heart. In mere moments, the light faded from his eyes. My chest grew heavy with guilt, and the memory etched itself into my mind. Yet, I had seen far worse.
There is no room for sympathy on the battlefield. Sympathy will only lead to your death. That point was proven a second later when I raised my sword just in time to block a strike. The clash of blades rang loud in the air.
"Who are you?" a devil growled. Before I could respond, a sword pierced his chest. His eyes widened in shock as he turned to see his killer
A red-eyed woman with long, flowing purple hair.
"Don't you dare lay a hand on my precious," she whispered coldly. Those words were likely the last thing he heard as his body crumpled to the ground.
Her gaze, sharp and calculating, softened when she turned to me. "Are you alright?" she asked.
"Yup," I replied simply. Without another word, we resumed dismantling our opponents on the battlefield.
The devils' fear was palpable, their pupils dilating each time we approached. My dark red aura, mixed with Natsumi's, overwhelmed them. They could only tremble as they witnessed the force before them.
"Demons!"
Natsumi concentrated her energy into the spear, the aura around it growing fierce before she hurled it into the distance. Upon impact, a massive explosion rippled across the battlefield, engulfing the land in chaos.
We had the element of surprise on our side, our powers were unlike anything these devils had ever faced.
The spear returned to Natsumi's hand, and with another flash of red and green energy, dozens of devils fell in quick succession.
"I think I've seen enough for today," a cold, commanding voice echoed across the field, sending a shiver down my spine. Before I could process it, I disappeared from my spot along with Mom, leaving behind a patch of frozen land—eerily similar to the frozen expanse of my mindscape.
"You've caused enough chaos. I can't let this continue," the voice declared.
When I finally turned to see my adversary, I couldn't help but admit—she was stunning, though in a chilling, intimidating way. Her long silver hair was tied into an intricate braid, and her golden breastplate and skirt radiated a noble yet battle-hardened aura.
But it was her cold red eyes, sharp and piercing, that stood out the most. Every flicker of her gaze seemed to search for my secrets, particularly the one hidden behind my mask.
"You seem stronger than the others," she said with a measured tone.
"And here I thought I'd be ending today on a high note. Then again, perhaps it's fate. Your faction has always been such a pain in the ass."
I readied my sword, my body tense with anticipation.
With my Hollow powers amplifying my already Ultimate-class abilities, I knew I could hold my ground against this woman—the future Queen of the Underworld.
A fleeting thought crossed my mind
'I wonder if she'd ever be my queen, then again Serafall is enough for me. I don't need her much.''
The thought was absurd given the circumstances, but it lingered all the same.
"Do you think you can take her, partner?" Mom's voice broke through my thoughts, tinged with worry.
Her concern wasn't misplaced. Unlike the devils I had easily cut down before, this was Grayfia Lucifuge—an Ultimate-class powerhouse. There would be no easy way out of this fight.
'Grayfia Lucifuge,' I thought grimly.
I can't kill her. Damn it, I need to hold back while still matching her level. This won't be easy.
I met Grayfia's calculating gaze, keeping my guard up as I spoke to Mom. "You need to leave. Go support the others. I can hold her off long enough." My tone was firm, but Mom's hesitation was clear.
"I'm not leaving you behind, you hear! That's the last thing I'd ever do!" she exclaimed, her voice rising with emotion.
I wasn't in the mood for an argument. "This isn't the time!" I snapped. "I swore to myself, and to Dad, that I would protect you. That promise isn't breaking. Not today, not ever."
As I looked at her, I noticed a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. My words had fallen on deaf ears.
"And I promised myself I'd protect you the moment you were born," she replied calmly, though her voice carried an undertone of melancholy. "Let me be your mother, just this once."
Her words struck me deeper than any blade could, and with a sigh, I relented.
"Just don't die, I'll drag you out of hell or heaven if you do." I said softly, stepping into my stance and preparing for a battle that would test my limits. Despite the tension, I couldn't help but feel a flicker of excitement.
Was it the thrill of fighting, or the fact that I was facing Grayfia herself? Maybe it was both, maybe it was none.
"Who do you take me for?" Mom asked with a faint smile, her gaze softening as she looked at me. Her thoughts seemed distant, her heart heavy with unspoken emotions. Do I even deserve a child like this?
Her silent question hung in the air, and before she could answer it herself, I spoke instinctively. "Of course you do."
Her aura fluctuated slightly, and I knew I had said the right thing.
"Let's go for the Onyx Flash Formation," I instructed. "But whatever you do, don't kill her."
"Why?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. It was the first time she had heard me express a desire to spare a devil.
I kept my gaze on Grayfia, observing her closely. She was unnervingly calm, her stance poised and steady, a spell already prepared for the battle ahead.
"Something tells me she isn't as bad as she looks," I said, my tone thoughtful. "Just... caught up in things she doesn't fully understand."
–––––––
You wanted a war? There you have it.
This may go one for quite sometime, so brace yourselves. I ain't gonna be playing around no more. There are still some plot elements I am unaware of, so I am gonna finish DxD, but I was half way done with Season 3. Nothing to worry about.
Also, sorry for the late release. I have been dosing off lately.
The Poll has ended with Grayfia being Hisashi's wife candidate *Facepalm* The only reason I decided to write about harems was because this is DxD. If it were another fanfiction l, I wouldn't have bothered. Besides, the harem will be quite small. 3-5 people maybe.
And everyone who is not a fan of harems, please leave while you have a chance. This is DxD, it's bound to happen.
Yes, he used jutsu. He can use Ki and Reiryoku so...
But I promise those two jutsu were all the only ones I was interested in. I plan for my character to depend on Reiryoku the most, but he might learn magic at a later date. Hope you understand why I used Chakra as an alternative.
But he uses magic, he would be too OP.
Anyways, Happy Reading Everybody!
10 Powerstones= 1 Extra Chapter.
Only 6 more Powerstones to go. If they disappear from the count, it s game over.
I would like to thank a certain fan for his dedication though. He gave me 3 Powerstones, that's a first. He contributed a lot to an extra chapter.
Clap hands for Master_Harrison please!
