Chapter 4 - Kingdom of Warshire

After me and Alice where done with touching the monolith and unlocking our hero status, the Goddess Anjea faced the class with a bright smile on her face.

"Now it's time for us to head to the kingdom in which you will spend the next 7 months for training by the kingdom best soldiers. The kingdoms name is Warshire and leads the other 6 kingdoms of the northern continent in demon warfare. It is led by King Ares and Queen Astraea. You all will get more information about the world you will now be staying in and more details about what's to come when we get there."

After saying so she started to lead us to the portal that will take us to the kingdom at the bottom of the mountain which the parthenon was located.

"Now it's time to get organized as we make our way to the portal, get into 5 lines of 5 so before we send you through the portal we will have a line going through instead of disorder group and remember to be on your best behavior and be respectful of who your about to meet!"

As the class lined up i got into line with Alice and 3 other random class mates, that i don't know the names of yet.

*sigh* Kinda sad isn't it? 17 years old and don't have any friends of my age. I'm so used to talking with older people because of all the jobs i've worked in the past. They give good life advice and can't compare to the ignorance of the people around my age.

While being distracted by my thoughts i felt a tap on my shoulder so i turned around to see Alice leaning in to whisper into my ear.

"Um did that monolith say anything weird to you?"

A little confused i replied back

"No? In fact the monolith was excessively excited about me being here, i figured it was a hero thing. Did you not get the same greeting?"

*sigh* "No we can talk about this later"

Slowly nodding after noticing the dejected look on her face, i turned back around and noticed space fluctuations coming from up ahead. As we approached i noticed a circular stone arc the size of 2 doors that was located a few hundred feet on the other side of the monolith.

'Hmmm space huh? I have an affinity for it so does that mean i'll be able to teleport us like this in the future? kinda getting excited'

As i was studying the spatial waves they where starting to stabilize. I could barely understand how it was happening. A part of me just wanted to watch the process over and over until it made sense.

Once the portal stabilized it looked like the ocean in night the middle, dark with a faint shimmer of light almost in the form of stars coming from the specks of what i assume to be the elements that make up the portal. They looked mesmerizing.

The Goddess clapped once to get everyone's attention

"Alright now, it's time for us to get on our way to the Kingdom of Warshire! Remember to be on your best behavior okay? I cannot stress it enough hehe"

'Okay she's seriously creeping me out with her giggles and exaggerated smile, why is she like this? Isn't she a Goddess? Just what kind of world is this? I definitely need to learn more as soon as i can.'

After her announcement the first 2 groups of 5 made their way through the portal in a single file line. After the 5th person in the last line would pass the first person in the next line they would follow after them to maintain the line.

Once the filth person in the second line passed me i quickly followed suit. Before walking into the portal i looked back over my shoulder to make sure Alice was still behind me. I could see nervousness and excitement on her face.

As i stepped through the portal the world around me shifted. It felt like i jumped into a freezing cold pool. A pressure that locked me firmly in place, the only thing i could move where my eyes. Taking in my surroundings it looked as if i was in hyperdrive that i had seen in a movie before, streaks of light passing all around me in the darkness.

It was over before i knew it, next thing i knew i was standing on a maroon rug. I looked around feeling my mobility back and took in my surroundings. We were in an audience chamber you'd see in an a typical isekai anime.

The chamber had tall windows lining the left side of the hall, from the way the light comes in i would assume it's around 3 pm in the afternoon here. In front of us where 20 steps leading up to a platform that sat 2 big golden thrones, both empty at the moment. There are 4 smaller thrones, 2 on each side of the big thrones. At the bottom of the steps where men and women of varying ages lined up to the sides of the maroon rug that led up the steps and back down to the exit situated behind us. Behind the people stood towering pillars that held the ceiling up that had chandelier handing from it. The floors and walls where made of the same material, i can't identify it but it has a light gray color. If i had to guess the people on our sides must be noblemen of this country.

This made the whole situation from when i woke up really sink in. I was no longer on earth, my family wasn't here, my future is now uncertain but worst of all are the people that weren't my classmates. I can't understand a single word they are saying.

'Shit. I have to learn a new language? This isn't going to be as easy as i thought this was going to be.' It was then i heard a ding in my head.

*ding*

~Due to being the monolith's chosen hero you have been gifted with Language comprehension passive skill!~

———————————————————

•Language comprehension (passive skill) - helps learn new languages faster, whether it be reading, writing or speaking.

———————————————————

'Just what i needed! Thank you Monolith!'

As the passive skill started to kick in the inaudible voices i have been hearing slowly but surely started to clear up.

"Are these really the summoned hero's? They all look weak and like children."

"I say it's a waste of our kingdom's resources"

"Well we can always just get rid of them if they prove to be parasites"

"Shhh don't say that they've only just arrived we can't be to quick to judge"

"It's not like they can understand what we're saying about them, only the gods, kings, queens and certain people can communicate and comprehend the hero's native language"

'Ah but i can understand you guys, haaa. I guess i'll continue to act like i can't understand what they're saying but this situation doesn't seem too favorable to begin with'
