"Omari get your ass up from the bed now!"
Omari groaned and turned over. He didn't feel like getting up. His body ached all over.
"Omari Hutchingson, you have twenty minutes to get ready!" His mom yelled from downstairs.
Omari groaned again. His eyes opened suddenly and he moved as if he was going to step out if his bed, but at the last moment, his body collapsed on the bed, preferring its smooth surface to the hardships of going to school that he was about to face.
He didn't sleep much though, seconds later the door to his room flew open and his mum walked in. He stood up immediately and rushed to his bathroom once he took a quick glance at her.
If she just rushed into his room angrily, Omari wouldn't have minded. What made him pick up the pace was the fact that in her hands was… a slipper!
Twenty minutes later, he was ready. He had a short breakfast and walked to school.
School went relatively fast even though he did not stare at Amber all day, as much as he would've loved to. In fact, he didn't even think that he had seen Amber all day. After thinking for a bit, he remembered that she had a match later that day. She was probably going almost in preparing for it.
The school closed early because then higher ups wanted all the students doing extracurricular activities to be able to watch the female football match.
It fit in perfectly for Omari since he'd have to ditch the match and go to training if the timing clashed. He cared about Amber a lot, but at the stage he was in, nothing was more important to him than football.
After school, he, along with probably all the other students went to the school stadium located at the back of the school.
Although it was a female football match, the stadium was filled to the brim, some people had to resort to sitting on fences just to be able to get a glimpse of what was going on.
Omari sulked internally. The stadium was never this full when he played at the school's male football team.
He soon found out the reason why the stadium was so full. There were scouts from local professional football clubs watching the game. At the end of it, they would announce players that they had under their radar. It was through a similar scenario that Omari got into Teesside's Under eighteens.
His expression turned solemn when he remembered the events that followed. He was tossed away, used as a training dummy for the first team players. The manager didn't even include him in the match day squad once, not to talk of making an appearance.
His fists clenched unconsciously while he gritted his teeth. Although his eyes never left the pitch, it was evident that his thoughts were elsewhere.
It was only after the referee blew his whistle that he snapped out of his reverie. He glanced at Amber. She was wearing the captains armband. Omari didn't thing any of her new teammates would mind that, she basically founded the team.
About ten minutes into the match, Omari realized everything that he had been missing out on as a person. Why did he never take female football seriously? He almost cursed at his ignorance a few minutes into the match.
"I should be watching female football more often". He muttered to himself. Amber was right, the sight of twenty two girls wearing shirt shorts, the movement of their ass whenever they were running was… it was… it was beautiful!
The match was over too quickly for Omari's liking. At the end of it all, the scouts called out the names of the talents that they would like to monitor. Amber's name wasn't mentioned.
Although her face didn't seem show any form o emotion, any idiot could see the disappointment in her eyes. Omari sighed lightly, he had two options; he could either go to console her and be late for training, or go to training early.
After what seemed like an eternity of thought, Omari decided to go for training. To him, nothing was more important than football, at least not now.
He took one more glance at her and left the stadium. As he turned around and left, he didn't realize that there were a pair of blue eyes fixed on his retreating figure.
In addition to the disappointment hidden within those blue eyes, there was a new emotion… pain!
But Omari couldn't see it, he couldn't see any more of the blue eyes, he was already gone.
After getting to the training ground, Omari began instantly regretted making his 'sacrifice'. Training has already started when he arrived, but the people around weren't doing anything.
The manager gathered all the players and was giving them a speech. Omari could faintly hear the words coming from him and only went join everyone else when he confirmed that he wasn't still screaming at everyone because of their most recent match.
What he didn't expect was that there was two new kids standing with Jurg in the middle of the huddle that had formed around him.
The two of them looked about fifteen years old. One of them had blonde hair, and a few freckles adorned his face. He was already wearing the team's training kit.
The other one had brown colored skin, he had a low cut and even though he was young, there was already a patch of hair surrounding his lips and lower face area.
"These two are our new signings, David Arkenberg from Denmark and James Maxwell from USA". Jurg said gesturing at the two boys beside him. The blonde boy was from Denmark while the black boy was from USA. "Don't let their ages fool you, they were playing first team football before we snapped ''em up!"
Omari looked at the two players with genuine surprise. In his past life, Jurg never signed any new players after him and Ayanfe.
He began to feel scared. What the hell was happening?!

Omari defo didn't expect that, did he?
