Chapter 36 - 035. Her Wanted Duet [1]

MIA

Maria and Natasha were in the middle of singing Baby, I'm Jealous by Bebe Rexha ft. Doja Cat as we got there, acting as if nothing happened. Quite the annoyingly ironic song to sing right now. They all turned to us when we came back, but instead of heading to them, as Leo did when he ran to Luigi, I went to the table and picked my bowel of tiramisu with the spoon, the rest of the bottle of whiskey, and my book that was still on the couch.

"Quite the long breath you took," nonna groaned.

I couldn't help chuckling softly, "I'm back, aren't I? I could have ran."

She narrowed her eyes, "You couldn't. You keep all of your promises." "I do, don't I?" I winked to nonni and mama, grinning mischievously.

Turning on my heeled slippers and went to the living room where the dumbasses were playing the karaoke like children in a playground. Then, without a word, I sat down on the puffed chair at the opposite corner of the two couches, in a position that was good for me to watch all of them, without being in their middle. I sat the whiskey bottle at the little crystal side table at my right, the book laying on my abdomen, and began enjoying the tiramisu that I love so much. Nonna definitely made this, only her makes it like this.

Her and me, of course, but I didn't do it.

And I was eating in peace, until Maria, holding the baby pink mic, grabbed the red mic from her oldest sister Anastasia and turned to me, making everyone turn their eyes to me with her, which made my cheeks heat up, because it meant that Misha was also looking at me, and I'm eating. "Mia, Mia, Mia, do you know Seven by Jung Kook and Latto?"

I licked the tiramisu from my lips slowly, swallowing, understanding that the idiot wants to sing a duet with me. I'm used to them pushing me aside and not wanting me to be part of their girls and activities, this is unknown territory. "The normal or the explicit version?" I asked blankly as she got to me.

"Explicit, of course," she grinned mischievously. "Do you know it?"

"The lyrics?" I arched my eyebrows and she nodded. "Yeah."

Then she picked my tiramisu bowel from my hand, set it down in the side table with the whiskey, and shove the red mic in my hand instead. "You will sing it with me. I want to rap, so I'll sing Latto's feat, you sing Jung Kook's."

"No asking, huh?" I mocked, grabbing the damn mic.

"Why would I give you a chance to refuse?" She scoffed. "You can even stay sat down in the chair with your pretty toned tanned legs up on the arms of the chair comfortably like this. Just sing with me. Your voice is mesmerizing and it should be heard, so grace us with your Majesty, will you?"

I sucked on my cheeks, "No need to kiss my ass, Anya. I'll sing."

"I know you will," she purred and sat down on the other side of the couch, "come, you all, sit down. Let's make the atmosphere less overly extroverted so our dear introverted little sister here will feel better."

"Anya, there's no need for that," I growled exasperated, but they were all already siting down on the couches together, all nineteen of them, turned to me. While Leo was sitting on Luigi's lap on the other chair pair of mine, that allowed him to keep controlling the laptop and the songs.

"Let's do a round of duets, yeah?" Maria beamed. "With Mia!" My eyes widened, "There's no need for that, Anya. Don't be stupid."

"What? Is that too much for you? You can't do it?" He mocked me.

I clenched my jaw, glaring at him, and at how he was siting with Emma.

Fucking bastards. "Of course, I can. This is nothing to me," I growled, feeling now challenged by his assholeness. Infuriatingly attractive.

"Then it's decided," he grinned condescendingly. "Play the song, Leo."

Breathe.

Breathe.

Don't scream.

Breathe.

Fucking breathe.

Don't lose it.

Turning my head to the direction my body was turned, which was not to them, thankfully, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "Play the song, Leo," and only when I told him, did he play it, which made me feel really fucking amazing since he didn't obey Misha but obeyed me. He's more loyal to me, after all.

Funneling my emotions for it, I licked my lips and sang, knowing the song by heart by now, since it's one of the songs I've been listening to the most these last couple of weeks. Making sure to get Jung Kook's pitch perfect, not changing a needle of the song to suit myself, and pausing swiftly when it was time for Maria to sing Latto's parts. Though most of the song was mine.

And not even a second after we finished, Natasha beamed, "I'm next. Do you know Can't Remember to Forget You by Shakira and Rihanna?"

"Sure," I licked my lips. "Do you want Shakira or Rihanna's part?"

"Rihanna's. I have a difficult time on Shakira's softly vibrating pitch."

Oh? "Fine with me, I can do her voice. Whenever you want, Leo."

Then we sang it. Next Luigi asked me to sing Collide by Justine Skye and Tyga with him, so I took her part and he took Tyga's. And to my surprise, brother Hendrik also asked to sing a duet with me, All For Us by Labrinth and Zendaya, he took the main part and I took hers. Lastly, Leo asked for me to sing Stay by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber, and while he took Justin Bieber's part, I took the main. And though I really wanted to try singing a song with Misha, since his voice is amazing and I could easily sing one where he takes the vocals and I the rap, since he doesn't rap, I held it.

"Why don't we do an Eminem round?" Pieter beamed and that totally got my attention, since Eminem was papa's favorite artist, and except for Emma who has absolutely no rapping abilities and can only sing vocal in a mid note, not high or low, all of us can sing at least one Eminem song.

Julia only knows one for as far I know, the others know more, but I know all of his songs by heart, since after papa died, I would listen to every single one of them just to remember him a bit, as he also knew how to sing them all. I can sing all of the feats in his songs too, and all his feats in other artist's songs, plus all the songs he is featured on. Even the ones I don't like.

"I'm on it," I sat down, crossing my legs over the seat, leaning over the side table and taking a spoonful of the tiramisu, I licked my lips and turned my attention to them, feeling competitive again, wanting to rap better than them.
