"What do you mean you don't know who was responsible!" Meanwhile, on the moon, inside a pretty simple office, a Heavily built man spoke over a communication device with anger.
"Sir, I'm sorry, but even after asking all the accomplished mages we know, none of them has any idea of what could have caused it." The person on the other side of the channel said hastily.
"So you mean to tell me that some nobody discovered a new form of magic and we can't find them?" He asked with narrowed yes and a strangled noise came from the communication channel causing the man to grit his teeth.
"Well then look for something! Anything! Any anomalies that could potentially point us in the right direction! There must have been something strange that happened somewhere!" He said and the person on the other side of the channel agreed hastily.
"Y-Yes, I'll be right on it sir!" He said before cutting the call.
"Dammit." The man cursed and rubbed at his temples.
"It would have been fine if it was someone we knew, but if it's an unknown individual, they could be dangerous, we need to find and put them under control as soon as possible." He said to himself with a burning gaze.

Nux took a deep breath and exhaled.
There was only one way to test his hypothesis, and that was to try and absorb Mana.
Mana was the basis for all forms of magic. Up until now, Nux hadn't been able to sense even the smallest bit of Mana as he could not use magic.
"Okay." He said slowly as he sat down cross-legged and closed his eyes.
As he had done so many times before, he totally relaxed his body and kept his breaths deep and even. Then he began to clear his mind fully.
Slowly, he pushed away all his thoughts and worries, his excitement and doubts, until his mind was calm like a still lake.
At first, nothing happened, but Nux didn't panic. After all he had meditated for far longer without any results, so he kept at it.
Time ticked by slowly.
And just when Nux was beginning to doubt once more. He sensed it.
Through his mind's eye, he could feel numerous particles floating idly around him.
He wanted to get excited, but he quelled the desire as he knew that if his concentration broke, he would have to start again.
'Use your will to pull them towards you.' He repeated in his mind as all the particles he sensed, he willed them to move towards him. And in no time at all, they started to float towards his body.
And when they reached his body, his body tingled as they touched his skin before getting absorbed into it and entering his body.
A relaxing sensation came over him as he felt the particles converge in his chest, more specifically, his heart.
Even in his state of concentration, he couldn't help but let out a small groan of enjoyment as the feeling of absorbing Mana was truly too good. It felt as if every cell in his body was being given a deep, comforting massage.
Moreover, he felt his mind clearing up with each particle he absorbed, slowly becoming sharper and getting bigger.
In this state, Nux had no idea how much time had passed. And then suddenly, in his mind and heart, he felt something give way simultaneously.
His body shook as if it had been electrocuted and his eyes snapped open. As a result, the absorption stopped. However, Nux didn't care as his eyes widened in disbelief and he observed his body. He couldn't believe it.
"I… I broke through?!" His mind reeled.
Not only had he suddenly gained the ability to absorb Mana and start using magic, he already broke through?!
He quickly checked the time and his jaw dropped. Only 3 hours had passed since he started his meditation, and he had already broken through.
"The greatest genius of humanity Lamine Xyston took about half a day to break through after he first began to absorb Mana." Nux Stated absentmindedly. He simply couldn't believe it.
He, who had been deemed as a cripple, someone who couldn't even absorb Mana and had a body weaker than a child, suddenly beat the record for the fastest initial breakthrough just from meditating casually.
Sure he was already very used to clearing his mind to meditate. But this was his first time attempting to absorb mana and it had such an incredible result!
Nux's heart sounded in his Chest as the implications were too fantastical to think about.
"The will of the universe said I had discovered an Unrivaled form of magic called Chaos magic. Is it really that insane?" He paced as he thought.
Inasmuch as he was ecstatic at suddenly being one of the most talented people among humanity, he didn't let the excitement get to him. Because he had no background, if someone discovered his talent, not to mention that he had discovered a new form of magic never recorded, things would get very dangerous very quickly.
However, where there was danger, there was opportunity.
Nux's Life situation was primarily due to his inability to use magic. He was far too weak to engage in the sort of physical labor that existed. And even if he was physically able, most of those things had been taken over by machines and AI, take Riri for an example.
Moreover, he was only educated to the bare minimum and again, due to his inability to use magic, he wasn't as sharp or quick witted as other people. So intellectual Jobs weren't an option.
"My education still isn't enough to get a good paying job. However, now that my physique Has improved, I can do much more." Nux thought as the first thing that came to his mind was to become a fighter.
After magic became widespread, it became difficult to quell violence among the masses since magic was largely violent when you too away its utility based uses. And obviously the government couldn't tell people to stop using magic since that would just be counter productive.
And so the solution for this was to create legalized fighting arenas where people could go at it with one another. This was made even more popular because if you got enough viewers during a fight, you could take a percentage of the money paid to watch the match. So not only were you quenching Your bloodthirst, you were getting paid at the same time.
However, there were still a few issues with this plan.
"First of all, I need to pay money to actually register As a fighter, and second, I can't fight." Nux's mind cooled when he considered it deeply.
He still felt that becoming a fighter was the best option since being a fighter, you could hide your identity without issues. But there was no point in doing so if he didn't know how to fight. And again, he couldn't afford it.
That was when he recalled Kent.
"... Should I?" He was tempted.
The difference between illegal fighting rings and legal ones was that first of all, all sorts of people could join in, regardless of their past records. And second, you didn't need to pay to enter.
"However, there are no rules, And killing is allowed and even welcome. If I go and am not careful, I could lose my life." He sat down and thought about it deeply.
He had broken through, but he held no confidence whatsoever.
The human ranking system had 9 ranks, 10 if you counted rank zero which is what Nux left to enter rank 1.
Beyond that was a bit more obscure. A rank labelled Paragon, but very few individuals made it to that level and were deemed as Scions of humanity, for example, Lamine.
Nux was fairly confident that the strongest person he could find at that place was about rank 3. And he was not confident in beating someone at such a level at all.
"If i go through with it then I will need to learn how to fight, both with martial arts and in my magic Usage." When he said that, Nux paused.
"That's right, what does my magic even do?" He mumbled and stared at his hand.
There were no records of chaos as far as he was aware. And Thus, he had no idea what it could and couldn't do.
"If I want to do this, I at least need a general idea of what I can do." Nux said and stood up.
He walked out the crappy house and locked the door behind him. He left the slum area and entered a secluded corner. There, he saw an old metal spear and smiled slightly As he picked it up.
"Been a while huh?" Nux thought as he held the spear with familiarity.
The spear had an interesting shape too, it actually had two heads at the tip instead of a single one, the tips making a two pronged fork like shape.
He twirled the spear in his hands with ease and familiarity showing that he had made use of this thing many times.
"Back then, I was just chasing a fleeting Dream." Nux said as he looked at The spear in his hands, a myriad of emotions passing through his eyes.
"But now." Mumbled and he drew the weapon back, his body tensing like a bow string.
"Maybe it isn't so fleeting." When he said that, his muscles bulged and he thrust the spear forward.
It pierced through the air with a scary Whistle. And when the force reached it's apex there was a small bang as it impacted the air.
Surprise flashed in Nux's eyes as he withdrew the spear and looked at it. That had never happened before.
"Just how much stronger am I?" He wondered and looked at a wall that was cracked in several places. He dropped the spear and walked up to the wall.
He clenched his fist to punch it, but then hesitated. If he overestimated himself, chances are that he was going to break an arm.
'Ugh, screw it!' He pushed those thoughts aside and pulled his fist back before punching forward.
He braced for the impact as he expected pain to flare. However, to his shock, not only Did he not feel any pain, his fist blew straight through the wall with minimal resistance.
"What the…?!" He exclaimed and pulled his fist out of the hole, and then a moment later, the whole wall collapsed.
