School, as usual, dragged on with its monotonous rhythm. Kouhei was listening to Kyouka talk about something, pretending to be interested, but his mind kept wandering. No matter how hard he tried to focus, he just couldn't help it.
At least one good thing had come out of all this—Takahashi was back to normal. The aura of envy that had wrapped around him before was gone, and he didn't seem like he'd bother Kouhei again anytime soon.
Yuuna had assured Kouhei that Takahashi's memories had been completely manipulated. All the memories that made him who he was, including those from his childhood, remained intact. Only the incident he'd caused had been altered, twisted to remove any trace of lingering envy toward Kouhei. Now, Takahashi acted like his usual self, like nothing had ever happened.
