Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Confessions

**

Recently, Jessica had been feeling a bit worried. With the constant training, she noticed that her strength and speed had increased. Although the improvement in speed wasn't significant, which she didn't mind, her strength had grown again. Even though her control had improved, the surge in power was unsettling.

"Trish, my strength has increased again," Jessica confided during a lunch outing she had scheduled specifically to seek some advice.

Trish, sensing Jessica's anxiety, replied, "You should be honest about it."

"But I'm scared. I don't know how Link will react," Jessica said, frustration clear in her voice. "What if he fears me? Do you understand?"

"Of course I do, but it's going to come out eventually," Trish reasoned. "Rather than stress yourself out like this, it's better to tell him now. The longer you wait, the worse it could become."

"And besides, he might not even care. He loves you, Jessica. Love can overcome everything."

Jessica frowned, still unable to make up her mind. What scared her most was the thought of Link looking at her differently. She couldn't bear the idea.

Link, on the other hand, had sensed that something was off with Jessica lately. She tried hard to suppress her emotions, but since they spent so much time together, he had grown especially attuned to her feelings.

That evening, after dinner, they were cuddling on the couch watching TV when Link finally asked, "Honey, what's been bothering you lately?"

"I can tell you've been agitated. Did something happen?"

Jessica's body visibly tensed, her mind in turmoil. After a few moments, she asked, "Link, if there were something different about me, would it change the way you feel?"

Finally, she had spoken the words that had been weighing on her.

"Different?" Link thought to himself with amusement. It was probably time for him to be honest with Jessica too. If things continued like this, he worried she might develop depression, and that would be the worst outcome.

"Yes, I might not be the same as you," Jessica said quietly, her voice so soft that most people wouldn't have been able to hear her.

"Go on," Link prompted.

"My strength... it's immense," she admitted.

"Really?" Link responded, feigning curiosity. "I don't believe you."

Jessica shifted from his embrace, grabbing the leg of the coffee table with one hand and effortlessly lifting it. Despite the weight, the objects on the table didn't even wobble.

She carefully set it back down and looked at Link nervously. "Did you see that?"

Jessica was shocked by what happened next.

Link, with a calm expression, also reached out, grabbed the same leg of the coffee table, and lifted it just as effortlessly. The items on the table remained perfectly still. He then lowered it back down.

"This isn't any different," Link said with a smile.

"This... this can't be," Jessica stammered, disbelief written all over her face. "That table's made of wood, and the surface is marble!"

Link laughed heartily. "Haha! Jessica, you're not the only special one in this world."

"Every time you tried to hold back during our... activities, I always found it adorable."

"You..." Jessica's face flushed with embarrassment. Without warning, she threw herself at him, pressing her lips to his in a passionate kiss. After pulling back, she declared, "Tonight, I'm taking the lead!"

They spent the rest of the night tangled together, the weight of Jessica's long-held secret finally released.

Thankfully, the apartment's structure was sturdy, and so was the bed, otherwise, things might have taken a disastrous turn.

Usually, their... sessions lasted for over an hour, but that night, half an hour was enough. And it was far more satisfying.

"Phew…" Jessica was drenched in sweat, resting on Link's chest. After catching her breath, she asked, "So, what's your deal?"

"I'm Superman!" Link teased.

"I'm serious!" Jessica said, annoyed.

"I'm serious too!" Link laughed, wrapping his arms around her as his body started to float. He flew them both toward the bathroom, leaving Jessica too stunned to speak.

Once in the bathroom, he gently landed under the shower, turning on the water.

"It's real?" Jessica muttered as the hot water hit her, finally coming to terms with it. "Wait, does that mean that comic book character is you?"

"No, I'm not from Krypton," Link said as he started filling the tub with water. "Don't be too surprised, Jessica. There's so much about this world you don't know. But from now on, I'll train you."

"You need to work on controlling your strength better. Even if you don't want to fight, you still need to protect yourself."

"Alright," Jessica finally said with relief, wrapping her arms around Link's neck, her legs instinctively locking around his waist as she once again sparked a more... intimate interaction.

Link quickly took precautions—he wasn't ready to become a father just yet.

The next day, after they got up, the couple headed to the charity foundation first to handle some matters. With the collaboration between their foundation and the Vanessa Charity Foundation, there were quite a few tasks to manage.

Afterward, Link took Jessica out to search for a warehouse. They needed a place that could be converted for her training. Jessica had previously tried working with a coach, but she couldn't spar with them, and she couldn't even hit the punching bags without risking damage.

However, none of the available locations seemed ideal. The walls were too thin for what they had in mind. So, Link decided it would be best to buy land and build something from scratch.

He needed thick, reinforced walls to ensure that when they trained, the structure wouldn't collapse. They also needed the site to be secure enough to keep their secrets safe. So, Link bought a plot near their apartment and had an old warehouse torn down to make way for their new facility.

Under the guise of constructing a personal gym, they built a structure with one underground and one above-ground level. The ground level would have a ten-meter-high ceiling with no windows and would be entirely made of reinforced concrete, with only one entry point.

The underground level would serve as a shooting range, which would be soundproofed and equipped with all necessary safety measures, since they would store firearms there.

The construction crew didn't question the unusual specs. It wasn't unheard of for wealthy individuals to build personal shooting ranges in the city.

Jessica also canceled her sessions with her personal trainer, as it was too risky having someone possibly discover her secret.

The high ceilings in the new facility would allow Jessica to practice jumping and mastering her control over both the height and distance of her leaps.

They would also train her agility and aerial maneuvers, enhancing her overall mobility.
