Chereads / Admist Her Haunted Past. / Chapter 6 - Faults.

Chapter 6 - Faults.

She woke up to meet Damien beside her, his clothes were soaked in blood- human blood.

Her screams woke him up and his touch pulled her out of her trance but she withdrew her hands from his and toggled backwards.

"W-w-what's this on y-y-your body, your clothes?" She asked, stuttering and pointing at his clothes.

Looking at his clothes, he frowned.

"Why are you making such fuss about this, huh? When do you plan on getting used to so much power?" He asked, looking irritated.

She stared at him with an unveiling doubt. Who did he kill? What did the person do to him? Does he kill for no reason? Was she going to die too?

A lot of useless thought ran through her mind. She knew that her thoughts wouldn't help her understand the situation but will only cause more confusion so she tried to set it aside.

"Never mind" she said and walked hastily away from the room.

He frowned angrily as he watched her leave in an hurry.

He hoped John had cleared all evidence and clues, he couldn't let her know what he did to that dog but maybe... He heard the sound of the famous newscaster, Dana Bash on CNN news.

They already found the dead body of his victim.

Sabrina gasped for breath as she watched the video of the discovery, it was all clear and understandable now; Damien only had those blood stains on him because he had brutally murdered James Hunk last night.

'So this was the unfinished business he was talking about?' she thought.

"I thought I said, he should sweep the whole of Atherton in three days and nothing more, why did you have to kill him?" She asked the moment she saw him coming towards the living room.

"I don't have to answer that, do I?" He said curtly.

Sabrina felt enraged from within.

'Who was all his fierceness for, who was he acting up for, her? She has also killed before, she knew a little about it, she didn't want any of this, she only wanted him to help her get away from him and scare him away Incase, she never expected death.

Recalling the discovery video, James' two hands were brutally crushed, his eyes had been gulged out and his mouth had been chopped off.

"Tch, what would you do if I insist on a reply from you, would you kill me as well, or will you abuse me sexually, I know that's the only two things you are good at!" She yelled In disdain and she suddenly felt weak.

She wished for his kind of heart, if only she had the power in her mind to let go of the past and focus on the present, the she wouldn't be there but she? She was the absolute opposite of him, both her and her story.

She couldn't help but be reminded of the unfateful day everything about her changed.

Maybe if she had let go of the dead and kept the good memories, she wouldn't be stuck with a beast.

"Why did you kill him?" She managed to ask.

Maybe if she has looked up, she would have seen his anger but her eyes were tied to the floor.

"All I can say to you Milford, is that, I don't joke with my properties and you belong to me, I will kill anyone who tries to mess with me or my property"

"I thought we were clear about his punishment Damien, you gave me the honour of punishing him, why did you take it away again?" She asked with a tired drawl.

"Consider it your second punishment for trying to escape my captivity" he said, with an acute tone that frightened the exhausted Sabrina.

He bent a bit and made sure his mouth alligned with her ears.

"Mids Harry is dead. She died yesterday, after experiencing blood clots and deep vein thrombosis, I promise, i tried to be nice by taking her to the hospital but i had to strangle her on her way to the hospital, so she would make it on time... To heaven , of course, and remember, you are to blame for everything. If you had just complied and not try to run away, these people won't be dead." He said with a harsh voice before walking away.

It seemed like he had only come to explain her misery to her and not his innocence, she envied him, not because he had more power but because he had the ability to let go of the past and forget everything without having anything to haunt him even for a minute.

7:00pm (Atherton CA) Bane's Mansion.

Lost in his own world, Damien didn't notice Grace walk up to him.

"Damien, you said too much" she spoke to him softly.

"I couldn't bare it, his hands on her shoulders, he was caressing her in front of me despite knowing what I am capable of! I didn't do it because he insulted me, I did it because she wasn't comfortable and instead of thanking me, she speaks to me like that?" he said with moisty eyes.

Grace's face suddenly grew cold.

"You are forgetting the plan Damien, and it's not the best choice if you truly want to save your beloved" Grace said, more calmly.

Damien bowed slowly to the nanny and Grace smiled again, before finally leaving.

Damien heaved a sigh as he thought of Sabrina.

"Was he doing the right thing? He only wanted to save her and he hoped she understood, sooner or later.

Sabrina stared at the only picture she had left as a memory of her parents.

She wished she could still be the young girl that would have happily lived with her parents but, after thier deaths, her life had been one heck of a mess.

Coincidentally, she brought out Anthony's picture and fear gripped her.

Instead of seeing his eyes, she saw blood, she saw him holding the same flower vase she had used to hit him ten years ago.

She felt the unsettling atmosphere and she suddenly knew that something was wrong, somewhere and somehow but... She failed to guess right.

She was surely missing something and she had to be real.
