"You knew all along?" Ashley uttered in disbelief after tackling Damon to the floor, angrily. She had taken him unaware.
"Will you calm down, angry wolf?" Damon hissed and freed himself from her, then got up from the floor.
"Don't tell me that! If you were in my shoes, would you be able to calm down? She fumed.
"Why not? It is not a big deal, after all." He replied, nonchalantly.
"How is this not a big deal, you deceiver? You are my mate, Damon! You have known we are mates since you turned eighteen five months ago! Five fucking months ago yet you didn't tell me. You even told Ria and I, at your party, that you didn't find your mate. And we were busy sympathizing with you that you would have to go look for her outside, as your mate was not in our pack, not knowing you lied to us!" Ashley yelled at him.
"Why did you do that, Damon?" She asked him, feeling betrayed.
"I d...." He was reluctant to talk.
"You can't tell me you didn't know, you bastard!" She yelled again.
"Will you calm down and fucking listen to me?" He yelled back at her.
"I have a reason for not informing you that we are mates!" He added and sighed.
"Oh, wow! Let me hear the reason then!" She looked at him like he had grown two heads.
"I do not want you!" He announced.
"What? Sorry, can you repeat that? I am not sure I heard you right!" She was doubtful.
"You heard me, right, Ashley! I didn't tell you when I found out because I do not want you as a mate." He repeated.
"What? How is that even possible? How can you not want me as your mate? I mean, we have been good friends from childhood, and the moon goddess knows what she is doing to pair us together! Why won't you want me?" She stated, shockingly.
"My heart belongs to someone else. I have a lover!" He announced, relaxedly.
"You, Damon that I know like the insides of my palms, has a lover and I do not know about it?" She repeated with disbelief. At that moment, the door opened and Ria walked in.
"Hey, my love!" Ria said and went straight to hug Damon.
"Wha.. what? Ria is the lover?" Damon staggered back in shock.
"How?" She inquired.
"Well, we tried to let you know by putting the signs out for you to see but you were just too dumb to realize. So clueless!" Ria scoffed.
"No, I can't believe this. It is a prank, right?" Ashley hoped they would burst out laughing and tell her they were just pulling her leg.
"Dumbo, we have been dating since six months ago." Ria revealed.
"Oh my goodness! And you have been laughing with me, making me believe we were best friends?" Ashley gritted.
"Ria, I trusted you with everything in me, so why?" She was getting teary as she relived the memory of one of the good old times.
"You are sweating profusely, and that only happens when you are tensed!" Ria had pointed out, that fateful day. They were in class but Ria could only concentrate on her best friend.
"Girl, I feel like the ground should open and just swallow me! I am about to die of embarrassment." Ashley had informed her.
"What happened, bestie?" Ria has inquired, worryingly.
"I can feel my period! It has come. I am definitely stained. I heard no idea it would come today so I didn't prepare at all. What do I do? How will I stand up from here even if I want to go freshen up in the bathroom?" Ashley had been so terrified about what other students would say about her if she should be walking around with a stained skirt.
"Don't worry, I got you!" Ria had maintained and without thinking twice, she had stood up, carried her bridal style to the bathroom. The whole class had teased them, calling them couple of the century. Afterwards, Ria had rushed to get sanitary pad for her from the school clinic and got her new clothes.
"What can I possibly do without you, best girl? Thank you for saving my ass!" Ashley was so grateful.
"I have promised you that I will forever be there for you through thin and thick! You are my other half." Ria had assured her and they stared at each other affectionately.
"When did things go wrong, Ria?" She asked after remembering how dependent she had been on her as her best friend.
"You have been my other half since childhood, how can you brutally stab me in the back like this? Where did I go wrong? Why would you allow my mate to cheat on me with you?" She sniffled.
"Stop being unreasonably emotional, Ashley. I just explained to you that Damon has been my lover for long. Technically, I didn't steal him from you and he is not cheating with me." Ria maintained, nonchalantly.
"Since when have you been this shameless and immodest? How can you be so disgusting? You are sounding like a lowly whore, Ria!" She gritted out angrily.
"Don't call me names, you lowly omega!" Ria seethed and slapped her face, harshly.
"Know your fucking place, servant! You can't talk to me anyhow!" Ria added.
"Ah... " Ashley gasped, with disbelief. She stood still and held her burning cheek in shock.
"Calm down, Ria. Let me handle this." Damon interfered and faced Ashley.
"Let us make this easier for all of us, Ashley." He said calmly.
"He won't do what I think he is planning, right?" Ashley's wolf muttered, nervously.
"I, Damon Blackwood reject you, Ashley Zachary as my destined mate!" He verbally declared. Immediately, a thunder stroke, indicating that the heaven had accepted the rejection and Ashley felt a sharp pain in her heart.
"Arghhh, moon goddess!" She slumped and fell unconscious.
"Yeah, ust die, bitch!" Ria smirked.
