The roar of the engine filled the silence as Sparrow gripped the steering wheel, his knuckles white with tension. The car jolted violently over the uneven dirt road, gravel spraying against the undercarriage as the headlights fought to pierce the dense veil of trees ahead. Damian sat in the passenger seat, his jaw clenched, his Glock resting on his lap, while Kyle held onto the backseat for dear life.
Sparrow's foot slammed on the accelerator, pushing the car to its limits as they sped after the helicopter. It was barely visible in the distance, a dark shadow against the night sky.
Kyle's voice wavered from the backseat. "Hey! I'm all for a good thrill, but do you have to kill us before the bad guys get the chance?"
