Damian froze for a moment, the surreal sight of Kyle playing a video game in the middle of a dangerous hideout throwing him off balance.
"Kyle!" Damian's shout sliced through the neon glow. He stormed toward him, Glock raised, his voice sharp with disbelief. "Are you kidding me? Playing video games while we're fighting for our lives out there?"
Kyle's head snapped toward him, eyes wide with surprise. The controller in his hand clattered to the floor.
"Damian?!" Kyle blinked, his expression shifting from confusion to a mixture of relief and shock. "What the hell are you doing here?!"
"What the hell am I doing here?!" Damian growled, taking a step forward. "What the hell are you doing here, playing video games in a neon room while we're risking our necks?!"
The younger man sitting next to Kyle jumped to his feet, startled. His controller hit the floor, but before he could make a move, Damian pointed his Glock at him.
