Ariana looked adorable, all startled like that. Honestly, he shouldn't find her astonishment so endearing, but he did. She even had the same expression as Sophia. A perfect choice to pose as his deceased lover.
"I know some Italian," she says. "But no one would ever, ever mistake me for a native speaker. At least I sort of look the part."
Dimitri nodded. "You do. Except your hair is shorter than hers was. But Luc will be too frightened to notice. He'll be wetting his pants."
Ariana struggled with the idea. "It's not that I mind fooling them again ... but I feel a little strange masquerading as Sophia."
"Well, get over it," Maarah said bluntly. "Don't you want your nightmare to be over? And your family's ordeal?"
Ariana nodded fervently. "YES. I want justice done, too. I just need to lear how to act like Sophia. Dimitri--"
