Ariana POV
God, she felt tired. So tired.
It felt humiliating to have Dimitri carry her to their bedroom in Vampsailles, but the hour was late and she felt tired.
"Are you okay?" He kissed the top of her head as his warm body surrounded her, his arms supporting her and cradling her. "You're not feeling weak?"
"No. I've been taking plenty of iron," she said.
His fingers stroked her hair. "Any dizzy spells? Nausea? Fainting?"
"No! Is this that curse thing again?" she asked.
He smiled against her hair. "No. Some people might think of it as a curse, while others think of it as the ultimate joy."
"Could you be a little more vague?" she grumbled.
He kicked the door closed and gently undressed her, helping her to wriggle into a beautiful silk nightgown. "You're clever, Ari, my little koala. You'll figure this one out for yourself."
"Not even a hint?" she wheedled.
