"I can't believe you brought snorkel equipment."
Dimitri grinned. "You're a scientist--I knew you'd love the chance to view the phosphorescent fungi in the lake. And it's almost a mystical experience."
He helped her choose a snorkel mask, and she put it on, adjusting the plastic straps around her head, looking through the faceplate. She'd only been snorkeling once or twice, but still had the bug.
Should they be here, with that freaky-deaky Gypsy symbol on the beach?
Dimitri said yes, absolutely. He didn't want their beach day spoiled, and he knew that running would be like giving in. Surprisingly, Aunt Sally and Uncle Bill agreed.
"Let's move down the beach and stay far away," Uncle Bill proposed, packing up the blankets and beach chairs.
