Chapter 1 - Ice

" Uggh!! "

In a brightly lit hallway, a figure stood in front of a door, with a number plate of 7 on it. The figure was clad in an oversized, billowy pajamas that cascaded in soft waves, its fabric, a delicate shade of ice blue. The pajamas while bulky, adds a sense of ethereal charm to the person, accentuating their delicate frame.

On closer look, the person was a female. Her skin was pale almost translucent , and seems to catch and reflect the faintest light creating an otherworldly glow. Her eyes were clear and piercing like frost, held an enigmatic calm.

Her tousled hair, a silver blue cascade, adds to the icy elegance of their appearance. Despite the warmth of the pajamas, there's a cold , almost serene beauty about her as if she belonged to a realm untouched by warmth.

BOOM!! BOOO... MMM!!!

She stared at the door for a while, with a long sigh, she raised her slender fingers curled them and pressed on the bell.

A man opened the door, and looked at her face obscured by her long hair, and smiled. Although she covered her entire body, she couldn't hide the exuding aura.

She looked behind him, a party was going on in the apartment. The party was in full swing with thumping bass vibrating through the walls and floor.

Laughter and animated conversation mingled with the music, creating a chaotic yet vibrant atmosphere. The living room was crowded with people dancing, their movements... enthusiastic and unrestrained.

The air was thick with the scent of various foods, drinks , and sweat. Neon lights and colourful decorations add to the sensory overload.

A mix of people gathered around a makeshift bar, where drinks were being mixed and glasses clinked with each toast.

Throughout the apartment, the noise level was high, with occasional burst of laughter or shouting heard over the music .

" Can you please turn down the music? " Although she was asking a question, her voice was cold and commanding.

The man chuckled and leaned forward, his breath reeking of liquor. " Why don't you join us ? " He said.

The girl stared at him icily, " Unlike you lot; I have work, and I need sleep. "

The man grunted, and leaned back . He took one last look at her and closed the door with a bang to her face.

" Aiya.... " She breathed in and out. The next moment, a gun appeared in her hand.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The lock came open, and the door came free.

The music stopped playing, and everyone stopped whatever it was they were doing, and watched the unopened door.

The man earlier who opened the door, the main character of the party walked bravely towards the door, and pulled it open.

Seeing the same lady with a gun in hand, he breathed furiously and opened his mouth to spew out curses, " You little..."

But was quickly interrupted, " Special Force Agent , Su Yun. Could you please turn it off? " She said while trying to mimick a pleading turn which sounded... cold.

She flashed her badge infront of him. He turned pale at the sight, his breath caught in his throat. Without further ado, she walked down the hallway, opened the elevator, and tapped on the fifth floor.

The elevator went up , and opened with a click. She walked into a deserted hallway , and opened the fifth door on the left.

Her apartment was dark. She moved clapped once, and the lights came on.

The living room area features sleek hardwood floors and high-tech lighting system. It flows seamlessly into a private balcony, providing a serene outdoor with panoramic views of the sky. There was a center round table surrounded by fluffy sofas.

At one side was the kitchen. The kitchen was s culinary masterpiece, equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, custom cabinetry, and a large island perfect for dining.

She walked straight into the kitchen, and poured out the coffee into a cup from the coffee maker.

She lifted the cup , and downed the liquid plain. Whenever she couldn't get back to sleep, drinking plain coffee was the remedy.

As she savoured the taste of the coffee, the moment was disrupted by a ringtone. She placed the cup gently on the island and walked up to the phone ringing on the tabletop .

She picked it up and placed it on her ear. "Yes...? "

The person on the other side said a few words, and her whole countenance changed.

" Where? " She asked, her voice stern and laced with a hint of danger. The other side hung up, and she placed the phone back on the table.

She walked back to the kitchen, washed, dried and placed the cup back in the cabinet with fast hand movement.

" So all in all... No sleep for me ? "
