No longer able to withstand their transgressions, profound masters of different clans and great spiritual beasts sacrificed their lives to completely eradicate the demons. In the Eternal War, they had all sacrificed a lot for the peace of the world. So many years had passed, and humans and beasts had reigned in peace and harmony? Chapter 1 - Prologue

" You stupid woman. How could you use the money meant to pay the house rent to buy clothes for some unimportant party?!!!! " A man in his mid-fifty's ,with black hair and black eyes, wearing a black suit bellowed at a woman in her mid-fourty's, with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a vibrant green dress with matching heels.

" Stop shouting. Some people are still sleeping by this time. If you had given me the money I requested for, this wouldn't have happened. Moreover, there's someone who would get the money back. " The woman answered watching TV . She didn't give a damn about what her husband was saying. He could go to hell for all she cared.

He clutched his suitcase hard , trying to keep himself from beating the woman in front of him.

" You should be thankful that I am prepared for work, if not...." He walked out of the house.

A young woman watched how her parents bickered. This has always been happening. There was never a day , they wouldn't quarrel. It was part of their daily lives. If they didn't quarrel, that means one of them is seriously ill. And after what happened, it became worse.

Her family was not too poor, and not too rich. They were in the middle. Her dad works as a manager in an Oil company. Her dad strives everyday to provide for the family, while her mother squanders everything.

Although her father wasn't any worse. Just that, he tries to minimize the amount he spends because he is the one working for it.

" Mom, am leaving. Is there anything you want me to get for you? " The young woman asked.

Turned out she was their daughter, but unfortunately, she didn't inherit any of their genes. Both dominant and recessive.

This time, the mother turned away from the TV , and looked at her daughter with bloodshot eyes.

" Oh....Honey. What I want is for you to get married to a handsome and very rich guy. With your looks, you should be able to . If you can't, you don't deserve to be my daughter. And...don't call me ' Mom' , until my request is fulfilled. " The old lady returned her attention to the Tv.

The young lady as if expecting her response, sighed and walked towards the door. As she was about to put her hand on the knob, the old lady's voice rang out.

"Don't come back home without money. I have to keep my standing in the social circle. You understand , don't you? "

The girl was awe-strucked. Her mother was.....The truth is , her mother was lazy to do anything. She wouldn't look for a job, but wants to spend money. Up to this age she was still greedy for monetary things.

" At the cost of my life? " She asked her mother.

The old lady didn't reply. The young woman had already expected this. It was the same reply her mother gave her everyday. She couldn't bear to watch this insatiable woman, she called her mother.

Her gaze lingered on the woman for the last time, before turning the knob of the door, and leaving.

.

.

Hours later, the same young woman could be seen typing rapidly on a computer behind a desk. She was so focused on her activity, that everything happening around her came to a stop.

Time stopped, and she didn't notice. Her cold and focused appearance made her stand out. Her whole being was emitting confidence.

Typing on her computer, with such countenance was a scenery many would want to pay to see .

However, such a scenery wasn't noticed by anyone. The young woman's hand stopped, after a while. She looked around, but didn't find anyone.

" Tsk...no one could even remind me of the time. Well... they were actually being good to me. At least I won't have to bear the brunt of my parents anger. " She stretched her arms to ease the strain from hours of typing.

Her elegant fingers stretched forth and grabbed the bottle of water beside some files on the table. She opened it , and dawned the content. Feeling her parched throat wet , she cleared her desk and picked up her belongings.

A few steps away from her table, her vision became hazy . She swayed from right to left, before falling to the floor.

" Working for long hours without eating kills ?" That was her last thought before she slipped out of consciousness.
