Gotham City: 10 am on a Saturday. Two men walked into Gotham General Hospital. " I swear if I find Henderson today im going to kill him" Officer Brook a GCPD beet cop grunted as he logged his aching body through the hospital. " well mabey if you didn't constantly try to get on his nerves he'd leave you alone." officer lawson said nudging one of the coffee cups in his hand at his partner.
Taking the cup officer brook continues " Bullshit, ever since he got that promotion he's been treating us like crap." he pauses taking a sip of his coffee. " you know if it weren't for me making sure his dumb ass woke up on time at the academy he wouldn't even be a cop." he looked around noticing that he lost his partner before he heard his voice from behind waving him towards a certain corridor.
"Quit your complaining your starting to sound like my wife." "yeah yeah yeah whatever, why are we here again."
The officer started slowly walking to a nurse seated in the pediatric wing of the hospital making sure to keep his voice low.
"The fight between the killer Croc and some plant monster thing yesterday outside the public library caused an accident. The kid and his family got caught up in their car and only the kid made it."
"Good morning officers what can I help you with." A tired old nurse said as she took off her glasses before wiping her weary eyes. Lawson took out a notepad before answering "We're looking for Derick Gallagher, the kid from the accident downtown." The nurse sluggishly typed something into the computer before looking up at the officers." You just in time the kid woke up half an hour ago, you two taking him home." Officer Brook stepped forward a placed his coffee on the desk before saying " Not yet I'm afraid but we need to get the kid's testimony before CPS comes for him."
At those words, the nurse's eyes widened. "what happened to the kid's parents." Officer Lawson breathed a remorseful sigh before saying "Apparently the kid's family was moving from Bloodhaven to Gotham, his dad got a job at Wayntech, and They bought a new house and everything and then got killed their first day here."
The nurse covered her mouth shocked before breathing a bitter breath. " I swear these villains ruining this city into the ground" She typed a couple more words on her computer before speaking again. " he's in the seventh door on the right but the kid might have a concussion.
The officer nodded and walked to the door.
-Derick's POV-
Derick woke up with a brain-splitting headache. The type that came with an entire lifetime's worth of information being downloaded into his head. The sharp scent of isopropyl alcohol and other cleaning agents told him he was in a hospital—that and the beeping EKG next to his bed. His body felt and although he really wanted to get up and stretch. He figured it would probably be a good idea to go through the new set of memories after all if a doctor came to ask him questions it would be better if he had answers.
His name was the same, Derick Gallagher, and from what he could remember the previous him was also pretty similar. The only real difference was his personality and the fact that instead of him being born in downtown Detroit he was now from Bloodhaven. he also realized just how unlucky the kid was. After years of his father not being able to land a stable job in the city when he finally found one, his whole family had died barely ten minutes after walking into the city.
This also led to a worse discovery he was stuck in Gotham, yeah Gotham where all the crazy people lived and dabbled in their crazy bullshitery. Just as the realization hit him a nurse walked into the room and noticed he was awake. She froze for a little bit after seeing him but she soon shook it off and walked in his direction. The nurse was short, no more than 5'2, with a voice that reminded him of those old drawstring teddy bears he used to see when he was a kid. He hated them but figured if he didn't have anything nice to say... and all that.
"good morning Mr. Gallagher, how are you doing" the nurse said as she adjusted Derick's bed into an upright position. Derick nodded because he didn't really feel like talking and luckily the woman just continued. " Good I'll go inform the doctor that you are awake so feel free to call if you need anything." She left after placing the sensor for the EKG he had taken off, on his pointer finger. A couple of minutes later the doctor came in and asked him some questions and did some basic checkups before writing it all down and leaving.
Derick breathed a sigh of relief when he found out there was nothing out of the ordinary he knew he had powers now and that in D.C. there were a crazy amount of mad scientists ready to turn him into a labrat. The only thing out of the ordinary came from him. The experience of having a new body made him move a bit slower than he would like and the doctor assumed that he might have a slight concussion from the accident.
Although he hoped that he could have some time alone to be able to figure out what he would do from now on, unfortunately, there were two police officers and later a Child protective services agent at the door to his room. They did not really want much just asked a bunch of questions about what happened during the crash and made sure he knew what would happen from now on.

" Okay so, kid we couldn't find any relatives for you to stay with so Cps will probably be coming later. For now, you need to know that since you are 16 you can't stay by yourself You need a guardian for about a year at 17 you can probably strike it out on your own. Officer Brook and i will be back tomorrow to help take you to your house until the CPS agents take you into foster care.
-Derick's POV-
Derick looked at the clock that read 2:00 and breathed out a tired sigh. It had just been fifteen minutes since the CPS agent left and he was already tired of living in the D.C. world. he noticed something blinking at the corner of his vision and called on the system.
[The system congratulates the host on his first day in the new world]
[would the host like to see his status]
'I have a status screen' "Yes!"
Derick watched as a brand new screen appeared in front of him and immediately found when he saw his stats.

Derick felt confused 'If my stats were so low how was i superhuman and why are luck and intelligence so high?'
[Host stats are not measured on a human level they are measured on a universal scale compared to the average human the host is quite advanced]
[the host's intelligence is high because of 5 as a persona and the luck stat is what it is because of his high karma however the luck will only apply to system gacha's and persona draws]
[would the host like to pull the daily Gacha?]
