Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR

It was my alarm again. It was ringing angrily. I turned it off sleepily. "Wake up, sweetheart," I heard Layla say.

"Why?" I replied.

"It's your first day at Crownstar High, remember?" I instantly opened my eyes and shot up out of bed to get ready. I ran toward the bathroom. I heard Layla faintly chuckle outside the bathroom door.

I quickly brushed my teeth thoroughly, took a shower, came out of the bathroom, and then wore the outfit I picked yesterday. I quickly went downstairs and ate 2 slices of bread and jam while waiting for Layla to get dressed and get ready to drive me to school.

"Ready, sweetie?" Layla asked.

"Yes," I replied.

Layla said it was a 30-minute drive to my school. Most people's rides would be quiet, but not mine. Layla turned on loud music, but it was comfortable nonetheless.

I watched the scenery through the window as we passed by, then the car came to a halt.

We got out of the car. Layla asked if she should accompany me. I declined.

"I'll just find my way myself; besides, I need to make friends." I bid her goodbye, and I got directions from someone to the office. I was heading there to get my locker number. While I was going, people were staring at me. Some were laughing. I put my head down because I'm not used to attention. The lady at the office gave me my locker number.

On my way to my locker, I tried saying hi, but most of them gave me a death glare.

"Is this what Layla said this place would look like? It's the complete opposite, people here are rude and mean."

My locker number was 119. Just as I was so close to my locker, the girl next to my locker put her leg on the way. Without seeing it, I tripped and fell hard.

"Oops newbie," the girl said. "I didn't see you coming." She was blonde, her hair stopping below her shoulder. She was putting on a pink mini-skirt and a crop top. I saw the two girls at her back, she flipped her hair, and they all left.

People were staring at me. I was still on the floor when a guy and two other boys walked in. Everyone stopped to look, including the girl who tripped me, without apologizing.

I felt so embarrassed. I saw someone who lent me a hand. I took it. She introduced herself as Kyla.

"You see the guy who tripped you? She's called Brittany Caldwell, the queen of the hallway. She's bossy, rude, and very annoying, she embarrasses people for fun," Kyla said.

Kyla noticed I was looking at the guy. "Well, I can't seem to remember where I saw him. Then, his cologne was familiar. He's the rude guy at the supermarket, but I never got to see his face."

Kyla introduced him as Ace Anderson, the A square. His name and surname begin with A. He's the only school hottie and bad boy, who was everyone's crush. I kept on staring, so everyone in the school must be rude to him to be here. Everybody started looking away.

Kyla was telling me to look away, but I kept on staring at the guys. They were fine, especially Ace. They were all putting on black polo pants with black jackets. Just when his friends were walking towards me, Brittany quickly ran to get his attention.

I left my locker and quickly went to class. Kyla followed me; we sat close to each other. The lunch bell rang, and Kyla and I quickly headed to the cafeteria after putting my books in my locker.

While heading back to find a seat with my food in my hands, I ran into a hard chest, knocking me off my feet.

"Not again," I muttered.

I felt hot tears trying to pour from my eyes, but I held them back and looked up to see who I bumped into. He looked kinda scary. He had blonde hair, brown eyes, and a small tattoo written "Ace" on his neck, peeking through his collar.

I got the chance to look at him closely. It was Ace Anderson. I realized that I had spilled juice on his trousers.

"Sorry," I stuttered. "I wasn't looking at where I was going."

He didn't reply. He gave me death glares. If looks could kill, I would be 12 ft under the ground.

I could feel people staring at us. Kyla had already gone to save a seat, waiting for me.

Just as I stood up to leave, I heard him say, "My trousers are not gonna wash themselves, are they?"

Just the thought of washing his clothes already made me want to puke.

"But I apologized," I said.

"Does it look like I give a fuck," he growled. I was so startled.

"You're making me talk too much. I'll leave the trousers in the janitor's closet. Make sure you get to it before 30 minutes," he stated.

He was leaving when he paused to turn back and said, "Make it sparkle."

I wanted to clear my head, but I didn't have any time. I have been nothing but nice to these people, and this is how I am been treated.

I quickly rushed my food. Kyla gave me a sorry look.

I went to the janitor and quickly washed it. I saw those guys that followed him about like flies watching me.

When I was done, I handed it over to them and left.

I saw Brittany laughing while she and her minions were at the bathe, ck, staring.

The closing bell rang, and I was strolling down before I took time to observe the school.

"Wow, this place is nice and amazing!" I thought to myself.
