Chloe's POV
I stormed into the training center, my footsteps echoing off the stone walls.
My heart raced, but not from exertion. The image of Aiden - bloodied, bound, yet defiant - burned in my mind. I growled low in my throat, trying to shake off the memory. And I decided to bury my body and mind in exercise.
As I began my workout routine, lifting weights with savage intensity, my wolf stirred restlessly within me. A wave of disapproval and sadness washed over me, emanating from my inner beast.
"Quiet..." I snarled internally, but my wolf only whined louder.
"How could you be so cruel to our mate?" My wolf's voice echoed in my mind, a mixture of anguish and reproach.
At that, I slammed the weights down, the crash reverberating through the empty room.
"He is not our mate. The moon goddess made a mistake." I hissed aloud, my voice laced with venom.
