Third person's POV
Aiden's nostrils flared as he caught the scent, and footsteps emerged from the shadows.
A figure stepped into the moonlight, and Aiden's tension eased slightly when he recognized Derek's familiar sneer.
"Oh, by the moon! The warrior and his commander, sneaking around in the dark. How... interesting." Derek drawled, holding a bundle of clothes in his arms.
"What are you doing here by this time?" Roselia demanded, her earlier fear replaced by suspicion.
"Just doing my job, Commander." Derek replied almost smugly.
"Some of us actually have to work really hard for our place here." He added, curling his lips as he adjusted the bundle in his arms.
"Where exactly are you going to that you have to pass through here at this hour?" Roselia asked, peering at him suspiciously.
"Are you questioning how I do my duties now?" Derek retorted rudely, his face swiftly hardening.
