Third person's POV
Sarah drew in a shaky breath before finally responding.
"Alpha, the poison... it has affected his entire nervous system. He is conscious, but he can barely move a muscle. Even breathing seems to be a struggle for him." She explained solemnly.
Liam sighed while Chloe's expression remained impassive, but her fingers curled into tight fists at her sides.
"Can he speak?" Chloe asked even though she already had a guess of what the answer would be. Negative.
"No, Alpha." Sarah shook her head, confirming the Alpha's invisible fear, her voice soft with sympathy.
"The paralysis has affected his vocal cords as well. He can't even whisper." Sarah elaborated further.
A heavy silence fell over them as Chloe processed this information. Different possibilities, scenarios, solutions--- anything that could salvage this situation.
"His eyes..." Chloe finally spoke up.
