Ivan was taken aback, feeling puzzled. She didn't know how to react to his bold claim since she couldn't read him at all. Perhaps he was trying to provoke an emotional response to catch her off guard. If that was the case, she reminded herself to appear calm and composed. Even though she felt like he was verging on being psychopathic, Ivan chose to praise him.
"Your honor, you have made a wise choice to save humanity," Ivan said boldly.
There was a brief silence following her statement, intensifying her tension.
He then raised his eerie voice, [I know what you are thinking, Ivan, that I must be a psychopath who cares about nothing except to achieve even greater power.]
Could he read her mind or something?
