After the elevator transported the remaining survivors to the floating island a few days ago, they realized that returning to the surface was no longer an option. The elevator exploded just a minute after their arrival alongside the skyscraper, leaving nothing but debris behind.
To make matters worse, even the staircase leading to the surface, which was built on the lake within the interior of the artificial garden, also exploded. The resulting debris blocked any possible entrance to the interior. Thankfully, the core of the artificial garden remained intact, enabling it to continue floating in the sky.
The gigantic floating island known as the artificial garden was now encased in a blank holographic dome shield, providing a shroud of protection from the toxic environment of the outside world.
