After Shan handed the food can to Setsuna and Hyun Hee, he approached the broken spirit Einsamer in an attempt to uplift his mood. He cracked open the tab of the can, revealing a red bean inside. Attached to the can was a spoon wrapped in plastic to keep it from getting stained by dust and dirt. Shan unzipped the plastic and took out the wooden spoon, causing the plastic to dissolve into a drop of water.
Shan thought to himself that, despite the world government not being perfect, at least they were considerate of the environment. He used the spoon to pick up some red beans and began feeding Einsamer.
As Shan pointed the spoon toward his mouth, he spoke in a calm and patient voice, trying not to agitate Einsamer. "Yuffie sacrificed her life for you so that you could continue to live. Eat this, and you will feel better."
Einsamer finally shifted his gaze towards Shan, but it remained lifeless, and he quickly returned his gaze to the floor without responding.
