The divine judgment!
I have heard this term before from the Orc demon lord and Lasiv when I was caught up in the explosion of the Tower of Eternia, but why does he show me something like this?
I knew he loves mythology and fiction, but he might connected something that was out of line here. Right now it seems like his intuition might be wrong but I would still read the text. Or perhaps my mind wanted to reject the idea of the divine judgement, because I knew it might happens.
The first line mentions:
[Four signs signal the arrival of the Divine judgment, either it is carried out by archangel, celestial, or higher deities and [Classified]. You must know that the divine judgment is different for each planet, solar system, and universe.]
My eyes fixed on the text since it looked like a very interesting idea, most of the novels I read were always about archangels and the four horsemen of the apocalypse that brought divine judgment to the world.
[+The first sign: The upside-down world:
-The good will be labeled as bad, and the bad will be labeled as good. But remember this will only last for a short period, the light will reveal everything.
-The world is divided into two existence, the higher and lower frequency.
-The mask of everyone will be removed, and they will find their true self and be forced to learn to accept their true self or reject and embrace their ego.
+The second sign:
_The awakening of the hidden prophet throughout the world, there are 144000 of them.
The third sign:
_The illusion of control crumbles
The fourth sign:
_Death and destruction everywhere to cause a final illusion to divide people and take advantage of the situation to gain false power.]
Why do they need to survive in the divine judgment? Isn't it a judgment from GOD or whatever higher power there was, this statement made it sound like we were playing a survival game more than being judged rightfully.
"Who wrote this?" My curiosity got the best of me, so I asked.
Shan responded with a shrug "It is an anonymous account on the Mythicalx forum that goes by the name E=MC2, but it seems like the first sign has been confirmed."
Even I could tell something was happening behind the scenes right now however I didn't even make such a loose connection that the divine judgment truly existed, it was just a fictional setting, or even if it does exist in the past as a way to scare people, that concept in the past must be long gone. After the world fell into a great global disaster, there was no divine judgment nor a supernatural entity that intervened to stop the event.
I said with a frown "You always base everything on logical conclusion, how come you connect a pattern that doesn't fit today?"
He slightly laughed and pointed at his forehead "Sometimes logic makes you trapped in the box, so once in a while, it is okay to break your logic and be crazy."
Surely, I didn't know how to respond to his statement.
"Well, I just know that I know. There is no logical explanation to it like maybe the elite finally catch up that God or whatever higher power there exists in this universe and is soon to deliver judgment to all mankind." He said with a slight giggling, an unsure face as well.
"Well, what can I say?" I stood up with a wet towel in my hand, walked into the bathroom, and placed the towel on the hanger.
Then I went to take another dry towel in the drawer to clean Bridget's body, while Shan also took Bridget's clothes, left the room, and went downstair.
It seems like Bridget's condition didn't look improving at all, but I felt my left arm move freely now as the pain had completely gone away however what caused the mass hallucinations and some even lost consciousness?
This unease feeling...
Nonetheless, I shouldn't overthink much, or else I would become paralyzed. It was better to stay grounded and head, whatever happens, let it happen.
At that moment Shan returned with a pack of medicine in his hand, and then he approached me once he closed the door. He took out a purple pill from the package and then asked me to bring him water.
We could drink tap water since the world government requires every home to be equipped with a cleaning machine, and if the machine broke, the water wouldn't come out and there would be a red color next to the holographic button to warn us before turning it on since normally it has a green color.
After I filled the cup, I returned to the bed that Bridget was sleeping on with a sore expression.
On the package it was written in Anglais, mentioning that this was a cold pill that also increased the fluid in the body to fight off the bacteria. I bought a cup of water for him and Shan lifted Bridget's head while he was conscious and slightly opened his mouth to swallow the pill and drink the water.
Then Shan gently laid his head back onto the pillow, now Bridget looks like a child to me.
A few seconds later, Bridget was able to speak as he shivered "I need a blanket!"
Shan brought the blanket to cover him except for his neck and feet. I also rewet the towel to place on his head, thought if he only got a cold then the medicine would remove his cold in an hour since in today's world Pharmaceuticals are very advanced that almost no diseases exist for more than 2 hours just by taking the pill.
"Dude, if you don't feel well. Let us know." Said, Shan.
Bridget did thumbs and tried to close his eyes to sleep even though he had a painful expression, a moment later I, and Shan also changed clothes into our pajamas and went into each one of our beds.
There were so many things going on right now in my head, uncontrollable thoughts rushed through my mind as I tried to sleep, this world was changing at a quick rate.
I was sure, most planet in the solar system had their eyes on Tellus right now. After all the main server of TWOD was located on Tellus and they shut it down throughout the entire solar system, not to mention ten of a thousand people fell unconscious.
While I laid my head on the pillow, I felt an uneasy feeling to look up the news so I reached out for the tablet placed on the nearby table to read the news.
"I will turn off the light now." Said, Shan.
I signal him to turn it off with my hand gesture, the light turns off as Shan commands it through his tablet. The holographic display from my tablet automatically adjusts its brightness once my surroundings become almost completely dark.
I searched the news about the recent event at Zero Zone Island and saw the headline mentioned a new type of virus known as Charus (Chakra virus) that broke out amongst the crowd, causing zero Zone Island to be on lockdown right now with the world government sending their support to set up camp for people who might get affect.
They said this Chakravirus affects people through toxic air that causes people to hallucinate and their body got numb and in the worst case they catch a cold, and advised anyone who saw the victim shall immediately report to the world government or the Golden Deer Guild.
As for the toxin air, the news said that it was still under investigation about who released this chemical to the public which impacted the protestors and the death of 148 people including all the band members from Black Eyes.
Strangely, there was no video for us to watch what happened in the third stadium.
What an unexpected event, as far as I know, this band had black mail many people before. There were a few songs from them that I liked though and may their soul rest in peace.
I put the tablet on the nearby table at the same height as my bed and took a deep breath as I closed my eyes. Immediately, the image from when I encountered the Orc demon's leg and the painful experience flashed before my eyes, I reopened my eyes with a heavy breath.
Closed my eyes again, these times all the bad experiences I encountered today and yesterday flashed through my mind. It was like my entire body was signaling to me about something and to never forget these intense two days.
I moved left and right as I tried to sleep and without awareness, I drifted into my dream.
*
The next days arrived, I stood at the balcony on top of the house next to the garage and with the holographic sky temporarily turned off. The emerging dawn could be seen upon an ocean filled with ruins of the previous world outside the dome of a vibrant city, I wonder what went wrong in 50 years ago?
As I leaned against the balcony railing that was the height of my chest, I sipped the coffee and took a bite of my chicken sandwich. Beside me were Shan and the now recovered Bridget still had a dark circle around his eyes as he yawned.
"Damn guy, I dream of my arms and legs being torn apart by a giant demonic monster," Bridget said as he shivered.
When I looked at Bridget, he was slightly shaken in fear. I could see a golden hue of the dawn shine upon his face. At that moment I remembered the information about the sign of divine judgment, with curiosity, it was time for me to put my ego and logical reasoning aside for once.
"Shan..." I said his name to get some information.
Shan turned to me with his mouth still chewing the pieces of sandwiches, he seemed to take a moment to reflect in his mind as he swallowed the remaining pieces of the sandwiches into his stomach.
He closed his eyes for a moment, then he responded "It is hard to say, but I remember a quote from one of the most well-known philosophers, Joseph Titor. He said when you stand before the divine source, remove your mask and be yourself."
That quote resonates with me, do I always put on a mask up until this point?
I was about to respond but then something inside of me blocked my voice, as if my ego grew larger than ever before.
Do I want to become a judge?
Do I really think I don't care about what happens to this world?
I always thought of myself as a rational and practical person, but what if I was wrong all along?
Then Shan patted my back to bring me back to the present moment.
He said with a slight smile "It is all just my speculation, don't think too much about it. We all wear a mask, don't we? But when I am with you, I feel like I don't have to put on a mask anymore."
His words made me feel warmth like never before, I smiled and looked at the dawn. It was so refreshing, whatever happened, I would always stick to my friends. Even if they ended up betraying me in the end, if this was what I truly wanted, to hell with other people.
Then I heard Stella approach from behind, she said "As far as I know, I used to read a scripture of Yatia's holy book, which mentioned there are four ways to survive the apocalypse."
It seems like she overheard our conversation.
Shan immediately continued her words "Yes, I almost forgot about that. The sun, the moon, the star and I AM."
What do I even mean?
"I AM?" I murmured with a frown.
