Chapter 32 - Vibrant city - Sector 0 (2)

The garage door slowly descended and closed, and Setsuna notified us to exit the vehicles. As soon as I stepped out of the vehicle, Stella walked toward me with a frown as if she examined my face.

"Where do you get that injury?" She said with a cold tone.

I guess she must notice a bruise on my cheek, damn it, it tooks so long to heal even if I applied the Nadro spray.

"It is from a sparring session with Geralt, no worry it is just a small scratch," I said.

She then pulled my hand and I was forcefully dragged by her to one of the benches near one corner of the garage below the overhead storage room.

She forcefully pushed me to sit down on the bench and lifted my chin as she inspected my bruise, and then she pulled out the Nadro spray from her pocket.

"Someone bring me the apple cider vinegar!" Stella said with her commanded voice.

But someone else approached us with fused eyebrows, it was none other than Setsuna "Hey, what is your deal? Are you his mother or something?"

Damn it, I knew these two wouldn't complement each other much or would I say they were too straightforward to use kind words for each other.

I looked at Shan for sympathy, and with a sign of disappointment, he looked at Bridget and told him "Bring the stuff that Stella asked for."

"Oh, okay." Bridget just nodded mindlessly and walked into a door that led to another building.

Meanwhile, Setsuna and Stella having a staring contest with each other.

I sighed and stood up, then I commented "We have an upcoming performance soon, we shouldn't cause any unnecessary tension."

Stella said "I am not the one who started it but I guess you make sense. It is childish to fight amongst ourselves."

Setsuna growled and tightened her fist, saying "What do you say? I am not childish, it is in fact that you are in love with Einsamer!"

What the fxck is this girl saying? Her, Stella? The tomboyish girl with a split personality is interested in me?

I was taken aback by a shocked expression, yet Stella stood still with a serious expression as she stared down at the ground. A moment of silence was bestowed upon the room, at the same time Bridget brought a bottle of apple cider vinegar but his hand was holding onto the door as he looked at everyone with odd expressions when no one was moving or saying anything.

"Ohh, it seems like I came at the wrong time!" Bridget murmured and stood frozen before the door.

Immediately, laughter could be heard as Stella psychotically laughed and said in a sarcastic tone "Me?" She paused, expressing her disbelief at what she heard, and continued "Love him?"

Setsuna was confused at the sudden burst of laughter from Stella, she couldn't say anything at all. A girl who was always upfront and good at argument now stood defeated and confused before Stella, it seems like Setsuna also gave up on arguing with Stella.

Stella continued with a sarcastic smile "I just think of him like a younger brother, nothing less, nothing more."

Setsuna said in a cold tone "Boring! not interesting anymore!" She turned her back against me and Stella and then walked into the door that led into the building bumping Bridget to the side.

"Yoo, what is your deal?" Bridget said in an angry tone but once he noticed something on Setsuna's face, he immediately calmed down.

Just what kind of expression does he see on her face?

I noticed Ginevra, the blonde-haired girl tight in a bun, walked up to touch Bridget to gain his attention and took the bottle of what seemed like apple juice from his hand, then she returned to Stella and handed it to her.

Then Stella opened the bottle lightly applied some drops of the juice on her finger and lightly applied it on my bruise on the left cheek, followed by a light spray of the Nedro's moisture on my cheek.

At first, I could feel a brief burn then it stopped. Now I felt better and the slightly irritating burn like an ant bite also faded away.

"Thanks!" I said, appreciated her kind act.

She smiled and walked upstairs to the overhead storage room that stored our instruments and items for our upcoming performance, meanwhile, Bridget who was the owner of this garage approached me.

"Girl's hearts are mysterious." He said with a smug.

I looked at him with a frown, but then Ginevra slapped his back causing him to groan.

Ginevra said, "Don't try to butt in with their matters!"

Bridget replied "Alright! Alright!"

I didn't know what were they trying to say but I had no time for misunderstandings, I only focused on my role as a leader of this band, after all, I needed to make our band gain more popularity in this vibrant district.

"Let's prepare our equipment and instrument, Bridget." I stood up and told him.

I got to talk with Setsuna, she was too childish and it might affect our performance. As I was about to walk into the door that led to the building. Shan reached out his hand to stop me, I halted and looked at him knowing what he wanted to do.

"Let me talk to her, she isn't in the mood to talk to you," Shan said with a serious tone.

I nodded and let Shan take care of the problem but out of nowhere Setsuna came out from the door with a serious face.

Setsuna said "I am ready, let go to set up our instruments. Let's take it seriously since we won't have an easy second chance if we fail here."

I had never seen her this serious before, it was like something had changed within her. Nonetheless, I was glad that she didn't let her emotions push her around.

Everyone looked confused at the sudden shift to her seriousness instead of her usually energetic behavior but her words were the truth, after all even a small stage in the vibrant city wasn't easy to gain permission to perform at. Even if we performed on a street, the audience was limited.

So we were grateful that we could even find a place to perform, an opportunity to showcase our hard work and talent. It lasted for two days, so I must follow the plan I created for our band wisely.

We hadn't debuted yet, in the past few years we played on the street, and we gained a little recognition from the social media platform but almost no one in the Singa Sanctuary continent knew of our name. Ironic isn't it? Even though our band came from Singa Sanctuary. Most of our fans came from the Ryu Sanctuary continent on Tellus and we also had a small fanbase on an artificial planet known as Reverie 9, located near Neptune's orbit.

Then Stella, with her mask and sunglasses on to disguise her appearance also went down from the overhead storage room with a 64 keys foldable keyboard carried in her hand, she looked at everyone and signaled us to be ready.

"I could use the hologram keyboard but it is better to use a real one." She explained.

She was right, in this kind of real performance. It was better to use a real keyboard, but I believe in her ability to play her keyboard perfectly since she was already a professional musician unlike most of us here.

"Alright, let's get our stuff into the back of the van." Ginevra clapped and told everyone.

There was another flying car, a van to be exact, parked at the back of the garage. It looked old and not too flashy but it did a job, at that moment everyone walked up to the overhead storage room except Stella to collect their instruments and tools.

Bridget took the big round stereo laid within a box and carried it downstairs, meanwhile Shan as well as Setsuna helped carry the drum kits such as bass, snare, hi-hat, etc downstairs and loaded them into the back of the van.

Afterward, Stella also put her keyboard into the van and climbed up to bring two microphones as well.

Now after everything was done, we climbed into the van. There were three rows of seats, Bridget was the driver and Ginevra sat in the front.

In the second row were Setsuna and Stella, while I sat at the third row I sat with Shan. The interior of the car was very well taken care of despite the outside looking dirty, and there was fake leather everywhere to enchant the feeling of soft touch from the rest, etc, there was also a holographic display for us to watch something so it wasn't bad at all.

While I was sitting and staring through the window, Ginevra mentioned the protesting on the Zero Zone island that was at the center of the vibrant city. The world has become chaos, there are so many things going wrong now aiming at the world government.
