Chapter 64 - **Chapter 65: Opening the Battle**

A strange and bloody red light formed a large dome, enveloping twisted, evil figures inside.

Atreus raised his left hand slightly, signaling the women behind him to stop.

It seemed as though the enemies had arrived in this world, but in reality, they had not.

This blood-red dome blocked all of Atreus's senses, ensuring that, at least for the moment, the space on the other side hadn't yet connected with this one.

"Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Bronze Tiger, Frost Killer, Copperhead, Count Vertigo, Bonnie and Julie the Master Thieves, and... Hawkeye? What kind of team is this?"

Historically, members of the Suicide Squad were mostly villains captured by various superheroes. Their strength wasn't necessarily top-tier, but they were numerous. The combined names of different versions of the Suicide Squad could fill several sheets of A4 paper.

This team was led by government agent Amanda Waller, who commanded them by implanting bombs in their bodies to ensure compliance during missions.

Clearly, the gaping holes in the necks of several zombie heroes proved that Waller from that world had at least tried to clean up these guys at the last moment.

But why is Hawkeye here?

No matter what glorious past they may have had, now they had arrived in this world as twisted, fallen versions of themselves, destined to become enemies of all living beings.

There was no time for Atreus to waste on unnecessary talk.

He gave his orders concisely: "The one with red eyes goes to Ghost-Spider. Huntress, suppress the ranged enemies. I'll take care of the one with the cape."

He was about to give more instructions when the blood-red shield around the portal suddenly shattered.

"Whoa—"

In an instant, the scarlet light transformed into a foul-smelling blood-red storm, spewing out waves of stench-filled air.

The women surrounding Atreus felt their heartbeats grow frantic and irregular—an involuntary question crossed their minds: Can we really hold back these zombie heroes from another world?

Atreus answered them first.

A massive iron door collapsed with a deafening crash. Judging by its size—four meters tall, two meters wide, and iron bars as thick as a baby's arm—it could easily crush a car.

Yet under Atreus's **Giant Throw**, this massive iron door became the most destructive divider on the battlefield.

Zombies may not feel pain, but if they're dismembered, they'll still lose their combat effectiveness.

Moreover, this was no ordinary iron door.

To ordinary people, it was nothing more than heavy.

To the undead, however, this door, infused with red souls, was an oversized soul bomb.

"Boom!"

Bricks flew in all directions. The rusted iron door smashed into the midst of the zombie heroes, instantly shattering into countless spinning shards of iron. It was like being struck by the main cannon of a battleship.

The incendiary bombs attached to the door exploded, and flames erupted across the battlefield.

Thermite grenades detonated, turning a radius of several dozen meters into a fiery inferno.

Everything close to the fire was ignited. Several zombie heroes, unable to evade in time, became human torches.

Without a doubt, Atreus's opening move was spectacular.

Other than him, a tough-skinned man, the rest of his team were delicate female heroes. If he didn't initiate, no one would.

But charging in blindly would be like headbutting a bullet.

It wasn't just Deadshot, Hawkeye, and Captain Boomerang who would target him—Count Vertigo could stun him in an instant, turning Atreus's charge into a suicide mission.

Taking advantage of the enemy's disarray, lightning engulfed Atreus's body. In the blink of an eye, a purple-blue orb of energy floated above the six women and surged toward the zombie squad.

Each zombie hero's instincts screamed danger. Their eyes widened, and they unleashed various defenses against Atreus's assault.

At that moment, Deadshot's bullets and Hawkeye's arrows were useless. As Atreus charged forward, he was shielded by a garbage truck's shovel.

Who knows why that thing was in the sewers.

It drastically reduced the angles from which the long-range shooters could attack.

"Bang!"

"Swish—"

Deadshot and Hawkeye, renowned marksmen, naturally didn't lack the skill of curve shooting.

In this world where science took a back seat, techniques like curving bullets—moves that would make Newton roll in his grave—were the norm.

In their desperate evasive maneuvers, they managed to hit Atreus's neck, proving Deadshot, Hawkeye, and Captain Boomerang were undeniably skilled.

But it was useless!

"Clang!"

"Biu!"

"Hiss—"

Bullets ricocheted! Arrows deflected! Even the boomerang, which should've sliced through Atreus's neck with ease, left only a shallow mark.

The power of **Hardened Skin** was terrifying.

The zombie heroes finally understood why this bald powerhouse dared to charge in first.

"Crack!" The giant shovel crushed someone below, the sound of breaking bones echoing.

Atreus didn't have time to look back. Riding the momentum, he rolled and raised his **Blades of Chaos** high in the air.

A mental blast shot out from the caped zombie, striking Atreus in mid-air.

Count Vertigo's dizziness caused Atreus's head to throb, and for a moment, the world spun.

But with his level 7 mental resistance, the dizziness was so brief it was almost negligible.

"Perish—scum!"

Lightning flashed as Atreus's wild attack sliced Count Vertigo clean in two, leaving a five-meter-long scar of lightning on the ground.

With **Giant Throw** to start, followed by a ground-pounding charge that took down two enemies in one go, Atreus felt like the lava beast from *League of Legends*.

If he were alone, charging into the middle of the enemy would've meant certain death.

As exhilarating as it was to mow down enemies, the next second, he'd be bombarded from all sides.

But remember!

Atreus wasn't fighting alone.

Just as **Frost Killer** absorbed the flames from his allies and the surrounding area, and the half-beast zombie hero **Bronze Tiger** prepared to pounce on Atreus, Gwen made her move.

"Biubiubiu!" **Ghost-Spider** fired dozens of web blasts at every zombie hero in the area.

Heroes with elemental abilities might not fear the webs, but those relying solely on physical attacks found them a nightmare.

With Atreus's charge and Gwen's follow-up, it was like hitting a cue ball in billiards—every ball scattered.

As the enemy's formation crumbled, **Katana** was already the second to dive in.
