Luck is also a part of one's strength.
If I,Atreus, have the skill to pick up Wonder Woman, why can't I fantasize about her being like a fish in my own pond?
I refuse to accept it!
I may not be able to be like the male lead in the Wonder Woman story who becomes her sidekick, but now that the system module is activated, I'll push forward!
Diana promised that unless she was in dire need, she wouldn't take back the power she lent me.
That's recognition, but also motivation.
After returning to his mansion on the outskirts of Gotham City,Atreus immediately began pushing himself to his physical limits, training like crazy.
He publicly declared, "I must improve myself. I'm following the *One Punch Man* training method."
His boss, for some reason, got all hyped up, and even Louis and the others were baffled.
"Just let him be. This playboy probably won't last more than two days," Louis, who had been withAtreus for over two years, thought he knew him well. He even started a betting pool with the other bodyguards on how longAtreus would stick to his routine.
Every day, it was 100 push-ups, 100 squats, 100 sit-ups, plus a 10-kilometer run.
It was exhausting for the bodyguards.
Even though the run was just on the 800-meter track in the mansion's garden, they had to be fully equipped, following behindAtreus. They didn't have to carry rifles or wear suits, but at the very least, they wore bulletproof vests and carried level 3 protection plates, along with assault rifles and four magazines.
After just two days, Louis and the others were ready to cry.
Luckily, on the third day, salvation arrived.
Miss Dinah Lance, in a gray secretary suit, appeared at the entrance ofAtreus's mansion, dragging two large suitcases.
She had actually considered beating this man up and going on the run.
Black Canary had even prepared stockings to hide her identity. But when she took a cab and saw Atreus's mansion, she put the stockings on wrong. Most people would pull them over their head; she had pulled them up her legs.
Sigh! Life sure is full of surprises!
"I'm... I'm here." After saying goodbye to her sister, Black Canary was mentally prepared for the worst.
In her sight, the image of a handsome man running with four bodyguards was getting closer and closer.
"Oh, Miss Lance, you're here. Your things are ready; they're on your desk. Aunt Susan will show you the way."
After dropping those words,Atreus took off running again like the wind.
Black Canary nervously entered a separate office in the mansion, only to see what was on the desk.
Her mind went blank.
When they first met, she had been tied up. She had studied up on this before coming, preparing to face all kinds of strange situations.
What is this?
*Administrative Management*, *Human Resources*, *Basic Accounting*…
A mountain of textbooks completely shattered Black Canary's worldview.
She stared in shock through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the man who was still exercising outside, muttering as if she had seen a ghost: "Oh my god! Did you really hire me to be a secretary? What happened to being your personal life assistant!?"
She didn't dare to ignore it though, because a middle-aged woman, about forty years old, was already standing at the door.
"Hello, Miss Lance. I've been hired to teach you the secretary courses. I'm Professor XXX..."
"..."
For a girl who hadn't even qualified for an Ivy League school, this was pure torture.
After another lap around the garden,Atreus ran past the room where the secretary was, and seeing her frantic expression through the window, he grinned evilly. "Hehehe! The pain I went through, now it's your turn. I even ordered a box of American SAT prep books for you."
A truly heartless move! Terrifying!
After being tortured by textbooks all day, Black Canary finally saw her boss at dinner.
At least the luxurious meal helped ease her pain.
After finishing his meal,Atreus elegantly rinsed his mouth and wiped it with a napkin. "Miss Lance, rest for an hour after dinner. Then I'll need your help with a vigorous, sweaty workout."
Is it time?
Is it finally happening?
Black Canary's former boss, Black Mask, was a master of torture. Once, when Catwoman disrupted his business, he tracked down her sister and brother-in-law, then killed her brother-in-law.
Black Canary didn't thinkAtreus was that twisted, but he had his own ways of tormenting people.
Hearing his request, she was surprised by her own reaction—not fear, but a strange sense of relief.
Come on! Let's get this over with! Stop torturing me!
Three hours later...
Black Canary got a call from her sister, Sara.
"Hey! You still alive?"
"Yeah... still alive."
"Are you okay? What's that jerk done to you?"
"Well... this is... um... It's really... admirable—no, it's too much!"
"Wait, hold on. What do you mean? Are you saying you two had a real fight?" Sara sounded skeptical.
"Of course! I even punched him in the eye and kicked him in the kidney!"
"..."
"And you know how crazy he is? He's making me study *Basic Accounting*!"
Sara had expected the worst when she called, thinking she'd hear her sister crying after being horribly mistreated.
But this… this didn't sound like that at all!
After half an hour on the phone, Sara summed it up: "Well, just see how things go. If he really hasn't done anything to you, maybe he's a good catch. My dear sister!"
A wealthy, strong, handsome young guy?
Black Canary blushed for no reason.
Sigh! There's always a kind of person in this world—it doesn't matter what you think of them. The key is, they see you as an experience pack.
Ang looked at the holographic screen in front of him.
Both the *Basic Combat* and *Physical* attributes had experience bars next to them.
"It went up a little today!"
Beyond the powers he had received, his human side still had room to improve, as he was young and had some catching up to do physically.
Atreus was pushing himself, not just because this was a dangerous world, but also because he still didn't know where his money was coming from.
That gave him a huge sense of insecurity.
If his wealth was borrowed, what would he do?
Atreus rubbed the diamond he'd taken from Black Mask. There was a huge fortune hidden in it. But he knew he couldn't touch it casually. Even after firing his previous butler, Frank, and hiring Black Canary as his new assistant, he still felt like he was being watched.
He had many bodyguards and servants, but he had no idea who was trustworthy.
Using that money carelessly would be like a kid wearing a gold chain walking alone in Gotham's slums—he wouldn't even know how he died.
Luckily, after a week of this life,Atreus received some exciting news—Tony Stark, CEO of Stark Industries, had gone missing.
Atreus was thrilled as he burst into Black Canary's room, dragging the disheveled woman out of bed.
"What are you doing? Boss?" Dinah almost screamed.
"We're going on vacation."
"Huh!?"
...
Meanwhile, Batman, Bruce Wayne, was working out when he suddenly got a video call from his butler, Alfred.
"Sir. Atreus has gone to Dubai."
"What's he doing in Dubai?"
"Apparently, after being attacked by the Joker gang, he got spooked. After a week of feeling suffocated, he decided to take his new secretary, Miss Lance, and four bodyguards and fly off."
Batman frowned and said, "Don't bother me with this nonsense. I have more important things to deal with."
"But sir, there's a bill that needs your signature."
"..."
