Leo eventually stood up and kicked Benjamin in the process. He was about to light his cigar. Leo doesn't smoke and hates to smell the smoke of a cigarette. Benjamin might have forgotten that so his kick reminded him.
"Chill man", Benjamin hissed.
Dominic followed Leo to a silent place to talk about the 'disturbing' news that could turn into a 'miracle'.
"What do you know about Abigail?", Dominic asked and put his hands into his trousers.
Leo hissed and felt Dominic was wasting his time by asking him such a question.
"Who's that?", Leo said coldly.
Dominic clicked his tongue and ran his hand through his hair. It was obvious the bastard didn't even care and that's why Abigail was resorting for an abortion.
"Who's that?", Dominic mimicked him. Leo sent Dominic a glare.
"What do you want me to know about that person? Who is she?", Leo asked.
"The woman we all saw today at your company. Her name is Abigail. I don't know why I'm surprised to hear you don't even know her name. It's obvious you don't care about the little one too", Dominic said and Leo stared at him as if he was crazy.
"What little one?", Leo was confused.
"Oh! You don't know?", Dominic raised his brow. This was more interesting than he thought.
"How old is she?", Dominic pressed further with his question.
"Why the fuck should I know that?!", Leo yelled.
"Then, if something happens to both of them. You're the fucking reason we'll hold two funerals", Dominic yelled back.
"No", Leo paused and Dominic watched him.
"No", Dominic repeated again and began to laugh.
"I can't, Dominic. I can't have done that. Don't you know? I can't be a father!", Leo yelled.
Dominic stared at him and asked, "She didn't tell you?"
Leo shook his head and Dominic punched him, "You bastard! She went to the hospital for an abortion today! She would have killed the only baby you would have had in this world today if not for me!!"
"Stop lying, Dominic", Leo punched him back. He was also angry.
"I wish I could, okay?", Dominic staggered and looked at Leo in anger.
"What would you do if she had killed your baby, huh?", Dominic asked.
Leo tightened his fists into a ball and declared furiously, "Don't you dare call that thing my baby again. I can't impregnate a woman!!"
"Oh really. Then, I'll give her the go-ahead to terminate the baby at the next meeting. It was me that was there to persuade her to keep the baby. I was the one there to comfort her and beg her not to be angry with an asshole like you. But it's all under the word 'if'", Dominic spoke.
"What do you mean?", Leo asked.
"See how you treated the mother of your child today. You humiliated her in your company. You had those guys drag her out like she was some servant and even pushed her out of your way. What if she had a miscarriage by that push if she hasn't been safe in the arms of Logan that's considerate and kind? And what if…she lied to my face all along and went to another hospital to terminate the pregnancy?", Dominic smirked.
He had to make Leo realize his stupid mistake. What has he done with his life?!
"I'm gonna make a few calls to confirm this. I'll get a doctor to have a DNA and-"
"I have somewhere to be", Dominic cut him off after looking at his wristwatch.
"Where is she?", Leo asked.
"What? I thought you said she was lying. I don't know so you can search the earth for her", Dominic sneered and turned around to leave.
"Dominic!!", Leo roared angrily.
"Don't call me", Dominic hissed and walked out of the place in anger.
**
"Get the door, Ava!!!", An elderly woman yelled from the living room. Ava came running down the stairs in frustration.
"Mom! You're just sitting there and had me run-"
"Get.The.Door", Her mom emphasized.
Ava took a deep breath with her eyes closed before she opened the door.
"And who-Omg!! Le-"
The masked man covered her mouth immediately and walked into the house. Ava stared at her sister with suspicious eyes as she entered after the man.
"Didn't you see me?", Abi asked her sister who eyed her.
"Hmm", Ava replied and finally hugged her.
"Where were you? Mom was worried that something happened. You slept out so we called Jessica. She said you were with her so she was calm", Ava narrated.
"What are you doing with Leonardo Grey?", Ava whispered to her sister.
"Nothing", Abi responded and pushed her sister away.
"Good morning mama", Abi ran to kiss her mom on both cheeks.
Leo was busy looking around the house with furrowed brow. He wasn't pleased at all with the house. It was so small and …cozy. But it was not his style at all. How can even one person manage to endure in such a house , not to mention three people?
He felt Abi step on his feet. He glared at her and she exchanged the glare with a soft look. He took off his face mask.
Abi thought she wanted to have a panic attack when she saw the transition. He has never looked at her like that and besides, he was acting in front of her family so she would allow him to.
"Good morning ma'am", Leo was pulled to the ground by Abi.
"Ah! It's good you didn't have breakfast. I cooked more than enough but here you both are", Abi's mother smiled at Leo in particular.
She doesn't know who he was. To her, he was either one of Abi's male friends or a boy she was interested in.
"I'm full. I ate before coming here", Leo lied because has never eaten such common foods in his life. In fact, what was he seeing? His mother must never see him eating such else she would pluck her eyes out than see him eat.
"Oh! Don't be silly", Abi's mother passed a bowl of rice to him.
"He's okay, mom", Abi doesn't want him to eat either. She doesn't care if he starves to death or if he has rice growing in his stomach.
She doesn't even care at all. He could go to hell for all she cares.
"I like fish", Leo shamelessly said when Abi's mother was about to take the fish she wanted to put on his rice.
Abi couldn't believe her ears again. She thought he was disgusted by her house from the way he was looking at it. What's with the attitude now? He wants to be the perfect son-in-law?
"What's your name?", Abi's mother asked.
"Leonardo Grey", Ava replied with a blush on her cheeks.
Abi's mother nodded and further asked, "How old are you?"
"Thirty!", Ava replied again earning two silent glares from her family members.
"And where do you work? Do you also work in the same restaurant as my daughter? You see, my daughter works in the major Rhyte Taste restaurant", Abi's mom said proudly. It was obvious that she was super proud of her daughter.
"Oh!", Leo exclaimed softly. He would have loved to do nothing more than to tell her the truth. Her daughter was fired two days ago for the inability to see him and walk properly.
That was funny to be honest.
But that was not the case; to Abi.
"I own Drop", Leo said simply and looked at Abi. Abi took a deep breath and took her time to explain to her mother, "He owns a software company mom"
"And a bitcoin company. He also partners with TryMe, INO and Exprella companies. He owns an oil and gas company too and is the head of thousands of branches within and outside the country. He was-"
Abi glared at Ava for real that made her keep shut. She began to beg the Lord to make her sister keep her itching palm to herself. Even her mother could slap her at any time.
In their home, disciple was a course that you can never finish. But of course, you would be promoted to the next level!
TWENTY MINUTES AGO
Abi woke up early because of the missed calls her phone got. People have been calling her too. It was an unknown number but she picked the one she managed to see.
"Hello", She said with a drowsy voice.
"Why are you still sleeping? Do you want my baby to be lazy and fat like you, pig?", She heard the voice she doesn't want to hear again in her life.
"Hello?", She pretended not to hear and acted like the network was terrible.
"If you do that, you would pay me a fine for fooling yourself", He spoke coldly.
"What is it?", Abi hissed when he knew about her plan.
"I want to meet your parents. Where are you? I'll pick you up", He said and she scoffed.
"Does that mean you accept the pregnancy?", Eve sneered.
"And if I don't?", Leo said coldly.
"That's not a problem. I could go to a hospital and-"
"You won't fucking do that!! I would kill you if you kill my baby!!", He roared from the phone.
"Oh! Your baby, huh? I'm not a slut anymore?", Abi hissed.
He had called her a slut when she told him that he had better be responsible for the pregnancy.
"If you had not been a slut and begged me for fuck you, we won't be in this situation", He had told her.
"You were always one", He said coldly and Abi hung up the phone in anger. She texted him her address to pick her up. They discussed what they wanted to do when they got to her house in the car.
Present time
"If I get what you said right, you said you want to marry my daughter", Abi's mom confirmed and Leo nodded.
Abi's mom nodded and looked at her daughter, "Abi, do you love him like you claimed?"
"Yes, mom. Like I said, we were dating three years ago but it was a secret. We started dating again this year. We're in love with each other so much that I can't spend the rest of my life without him. Please, give us your blessings so we could prepare for our wedding", Abi lied.
"Oh", Ava said sadly. Everything was happening too fast. What was happening? Her sister was leaving without telling her beforehand? When did it happen?
Does Jessica know about it too? Ah! She would know but why did they keep it away from her? And why would she hide the fact of her dating Leonardo Gray away from her own sister?
Huh!
"Well then, you both have my blessing but I must meet your parents before you both have your wedding, Leonardo", Abi's mom said to Leonardo.
Leo knew his parents would never meet Abi's mom, especially his mom. So, he lied and told her that she would give her a call before meeting her because she was a busy woman.
"I would be taking some of my things to his house mom. It would be stressful to take all so I'll just be quick with it", Abi said to her mom.
Her mom was happy that she was getting married even though she kept it a secret from her for three years. Three years means they've both know each other for that long.
That means they can both do things as one after getting married. Abi's mom was worried about her daughter's love life because she was always rejecting boys' proposals due to one reason or the other.
Last week, she was even telling her about the return of the boy she had liked before. She sounded happy and all but why would she have that reaction if she wanted to get married the next week?
She would discuss with her when she's settled down to not think of any other man apart from her husband. It was a sin after all.
Leonardo opened the trunk for Abi to put her things when she was done. He watched her hug her sister tightly and whispered something into her ear.
He doesn't even want to know what she told her after seeing her sister giggle in excitement. He was actually happy with her sister and ended up giving her some money from his wallet.
He gave her twenty new notes of a hundred dollars. Ava, who liked money more than her sister, hugged him tightly and only disengaged when her sister drew her back with a frown.
"I'm glad you're my fan", Leo was truly happy when she was answering in his stead.
"Don't think highly of yourself, she's not your fan. She never will be", Abi brought him out of his trance.
He glanced at her fingers and frowned, "Where's the ring I gave you?"
"What's the matter? A slut doesn't marry, right? So, why wear a ring to imply what's not?", Abi asked back.
It was then Leo remembered what he had said earlier that morning. He was silent but he didn't apologize. Leonardo Grey never apologizes to anyone, not even the president of the country so why should she expect an apology from him?
"Why didn't you tell me?", He asked her as he began the ride to his house.
"You had your men drag me out, remember?", She laughed and closed her eyes.
Leo stared at her and looked away immediately. Nothing can make him fall in love with her.
"Did you understand my terms? My lawyer would soon arrive but first, I need you to understand", Leo stated.
"You told me that we are going to be married because of our scandal and the baby. We are free to be in other relationships. We are not going to share any slightest form of intimacy and we would go our separate ways when the baby is born and of course, I'll still have access to the baby", Abi recalled his terms making a small smile settle on his face.
"Seems like you're not that useless. You're a little smart", He smirked.
"I was the most brilliant kid in my class. I had a GDP of four point seven when I was graduating", Abi said proudly.
"That's so low. I would have graduated with ten point zero but unfortunately, I was still the highest with five point zero in my department. You may go back to school to have my score", Leo boasted.
Abi was now angry. Did he just insult her again that morning without any form of apology?
Why?
"How old are you?", He asked. He realized that he has to know the simplest thing about her.
"I'm twenty six years old", She answered and he nodded.
"Your ID", He stretched forth his right hand with his left hand still on the driving wheels and his eyes on the road.
Abi looked at his stretched hand and allowed it to hang there.
He looked at her and clicked his thumb against his middle finger.
"You should go and look for it in your department", Abi snorted. Since he can derive pleasure in insulting her, she would also enjoy herself when it's her time.
Abi heard a soft chuckle from him and licked her lips. He began to drive faster than the speed limit and she feared for her life. She looked at him but he didn't spare her a glance.
And why the hell hasn't the police chased after him?
"How did Dominic know of your pregnancy?", Leo wanted to know everything.
"He didn't go after he dropped me. He parked his car and went into the hospital to make enquiries about me there. It's private information but I guess when it comes to people like you, even the world can be made to the size of my bum", Abi said with a laugh.
Leo chuckled and didn't say anything till they got to the house. His lawyer was already there with his assistant. Abi greeted them and they greeted her back. Unlike their cold boss, they were warm and nice to her.
"Come, I'll show you to your room", Darcy offered and took her things from her.
Darcy led her to a beautiful room that was spacious with everything in it. It had a walk-in closet that had all kinds of clothes with different brands, color and size. Her eyes moved from below to above when she saw her shoe racks.
They were of different sizes and shapes. 'This is the definition of wealth', She thought with shock.
She touched some of the clothes that were as soft as a feather. It was like she was in a mini mall. The bags were originals- she could tell from a distance. They were all new and smelled nice.
"Are all these just purchased?", Abi asked Darcy and he nodded.
"Yes, ma'am", He answered.
"Yes ma'am", Abi repeated. "Don't you know my name?", Abi asked with a frown. "My name is Abigail but everyone calls me Abi", She added.
"I don't think Mr Leo would like that", Darcy complained but Abi waved her hand.
"It's me. You can call me that. It's just like my elder brother calling me 'aunt' ", Abi explained.
"Okay then", Darcy smiled.
"Can you please tell your boss that I don't need luxury in my life at this moment?", Abi frowned and took a purple bag that had fallen to the floor, "How much is this?"
"That should be three million dollars", Darcy recalled earning a sharp gasp from Abi.
Abi looked at the bag that was nearly mistaken for a purse. Three million dollars?! That was what she was talking about!
Darcy's phone chimed and he took it out to read a message.
"Boss is looking for you, Miss Abi", Darcy announced and added, "You should ask him if it's fit for me to call you that. And if he tells you it's fine, then I'd be more than honored to be that elder brother in your eyes"
Abi's heart was warmed with happiness when she heard that. She had always wanted an elder brother in her life but she didn't. Instead, her aunt was blessed with four naughty quad triplets boys.
She had been ignored because what all those boys knew best to do was to lie she was their sister and take all her money leaving her broke. Ava was also best at doing that.
Speaking of Ava, she was already missing her sister. She doesn't like to be away from her sister at all. She loves her so much even though she's very stupid sometimes. She had seen the tears that settled in her eyes when she was eventually leaving.
She would call her that night before the day was over.
