"I am glad you did, I wanted to talk to you more but the timing was off," I sigh, looking at Lexie, who is wearing a warm smile.
She invited me to brunch in a country club hotel, and I couldn't say no. Liam had to go to the mourning families immediately after he was discharged from the hospital. He had to plan and lead the funeral together with Reece. I couldn't go because technically, I am not part of them yet, which was fine.
I hate funerals, and the general idea of goodbyes, and the last thing Liam needed was having to take care of me when he was supposed to be there for the others who needed him the most.
We are outdoors, the weather so nice, the atmosphere outright relaxing.
