LIAM
I am lying on a flatbed next to rain as machines beep all around us.
Dr. Melanie and her assisting doctors surround us as she begins the restoration. A mask hovers above my face meant to render me unconscious once I inhale the gas. I tilt my head and look at rain, linking our fingers together as the mask finally settles above my nose and mouth.
I can hear someone counting from backward, and my eyes grow heavy, and the last thing I see is Rain's face before I fall into a heavy slumber.
I open my eyes and it's sunset. I am on a beach again. My heart is hammering as I sit up, looking around. I am having the nightmare again, the same one that has been haunting me.
I hear children giggling and I stand up, looking behind me. There he is … rain.
