Dr Chong immediately dropped the bottle and shook his head violently. "I haven't, I really haven't," he begged.
The commander raised an eyebrow then touched his fingertips together in a triangle. "Really? Well, perhaps then you could tell us why exactly a squad on a secret mission up north ended up being decimated by the Third Battalion."
"Up north…?" Dr Chong's mind spun as he tried to figure out what his commander meant. Then he remembered. "That, that was a mistake," he said. "I had successfully gained the Third Battalion's trust and we were heading to the site, but then we ran into an Atlantic Alliance squad. It was coincidence."
"Coincidence? Was it also coincidence when, after you'd given our squad the passcode and were protecting you, that they were destroyed in another ambush?"
"No, I mean, yes." Dr Chong took a deep breath. "After I gave the passcode, we were attacked, but it wasn't by the Third Battalion. It was the Rot."
