"Aron, listen to me," said Lachlan. Aron could feel the anger clawing up him. He didn't want it but it was what it was and he was powerless to stop it. "They didn't know it would kill me. Having a body, having to need a body was a foreign concept to them. They didn't understand."
"And you're sure of this?" asked Aron.
"I'm sure," replied Lachlan with conviction. "I'm part of them now. They can't hide anything from me."
Aron took a deep breath and pulled Lachlan into a tight hug. "I searched for you for days until I collapsed, and the search party found me," he mumbled into Lachlan's hair.
Lachlan rubbed a hand up and down Aron's back. "I know," he said softly. "I saw the memories of the Moss from that time. When they realised what they'd done, they were distraught."
"Why?"
