Kai set the tablet down on the table with a snap. I could sense a strict lecture coming up and my mind automatically began to wander.
From what I could gather from the tirade, this group of researchers had been in charge of analysing the data from the tests Siu Mun had taken a few days ago. This data was supposed to be nicely categorised and labelled and other things done to it, all really in time to give Siu Mun and me a good summary at the end.
A little hand tugged at my sleeve and I crouched down to have a conference with Siu Mun.
"Is he always like that?" asked Siu Mun. I'd taken her to work with me and briefly told her about the researchers who came, including Kai.
I scratched the back of my neck as I pondered the question. "I haven't seen him like this before," I said truthfully. "Maybe he's just like that with his colleagues."
Siu Mun shuffled a little closer to me and I put my arms around her in a loose hug. "It's a little scary."
