TWO DAYS LATER.
/-ANIKA-/
I stood in front of the mirror, gazing at my reflection. I wore my black leather jacket properly and tucked my hair behind my ear.
I walked towards my box and held my handbag, wheeling the box out of the room. I got out of my room and met Marion giggling with Jonathan as they exchanged inaudible words.
"Marion, let's go. We are going to miss our flight," I spoke, and their eyes darted towards me.
The smile on Jonathan's face faded, but as soon as Marion giggled at him, he wore back the smile.
"Finish your work and come back home on time."
"I will. Take good care of Mom, and listen to her. Be a good boy," He said, holding his shoulders as he smiled brightly at him.
I held onto my handbag tightly. The past two days have been tough for me. There's heat and I'm sure Marion could sense it.
