I scoffed, almost losing my balance at his rash words, holding onto the table for support.

"That's all for today. Anika put her through the projects you're working on,"
"Okay, sir," I responded and stepped out of the meeting room. As I got outside, I met Nvee's dull face. Her eyes drifted to Minnie, who stood behind me, and then she fell back to me.
"She will be replacing Aubrey," I mumbled, flipping my hair backward, feeling frustrated, and displeased with this new development.
"Ma, we have gone far on the project, and I don't think-sh-she doesn't look like one that has an idea about what this company is all about," Nvee blurted out, and I could see a dissatisfied expression on her face.
