He pulled out a map and saw that Filch's mark had moved to the sixth floor.
"Filch is not nearby. I need to go; what about you guys?"
Harry breathed a sigh of relief. "We'll head back too. Let's hope the Fat Lady returns from her walk."
"Thanks for today, Wayne."
"No problem."
After thanking him once more, Harry and the others quietly made their way upstairs, grumbling to themselves about their stupidity for forgetting to bring the map on their nighttime adventure.
Wayne turned back, canceling the Undetectable Extension Charm, and departed after bidding Fluffy farewell.
On Saturday, the school hall appeared particularly deserted as some students had gone to Hogsmeade early.
Another part of it was sleeping in. Wayne met up with Hermione and Qiu around nine and they all went to the library to do their homework. Of course, Qiu and Hermione did their homework while Wayne read books.
Madam Pince just cast a glance at the three of them and then ignored them. After writing for a while, Qiu got bored. She wasn't a top student like Hermione and had only a mild interest in studying. The girl tugged at Wayne's sleeve and asked in a low voice, "How has Feng Wang been lately? I haven't seen her for several days."
Wayne put down his "Advanced Potion Making" book, looking slightly awkward. "She should be fine, right? Not just you; I haven't seen her for a long time either."
Qiu rolled her eyes dramatically. "But she's Feng Wang! If anyone else had a phoenix, they would treat it like a treasure. Why aren't you paying more attention?"
"Uh, it's not that I'm not paying attention, it's just that I annoyed Feng Wang the other day..."
"What happened?"
While they were talking, even Hermione couldn't help but lean in closer. Thanks to a barrier charm, Madam Pince could see their little actions but couldn't hear them, so she just turned a blind eye.
Wayne spoke a bit embarrassingly, "Well, I thought everyone was really curious about the phoenix, so I planned to charge for pictures, one Galleon each."

Qiu looked at him like he was a monster, taking a while to process what he said. "Wayne, have you lost your mind over money? How can you come up with such ideas?"
Hermione, not to be outdone, pinched him angrily. "This is a phoenix, not a monkey from a zoo!"
"Cough, it's not easy for me to support a family," Wayne said helplessly, raising his hands. "She eats a lot of herbs at every meal; I can barely afford it."
"Well, that can't be the solution," Qiu thought for a moment and said, "How about using my share of the money to buy food for Feng Wang?"
Hermione was unwilling to back down. "I'll contribute my share too!"
Recently, a lot of maps had been sold, and both of them had over a hundred Galleons on hand, which made them feel like small-time wealthy individuals. However, it wasn't that Wayne was being picky; this amount of money was simply not enough to feed Feng Wang for even a few days.
Since she hadn't reached full maturity yet, Feng Wang required a lot of energy to grow. Just this week, she had already consumed 200 Galleons' worth of food. After hearing about the expense of keeping a phoenix, both of them stared wide-eyed in shock.
After having lunch in the Great Hall, Qiu took her broom to the Quidditch pitch for Ravenclaw's team practice, while Hermione and Wayne casually found an empty classroom.
Hermione very reluctantly handed her homework to Wayne. "Quickly copy it down."
The little witch was not happy; who would have thought that one day she would assist in cheating?
