On such a beautiful day like this I wish we could go to picnic again.
I'm 4 years old now.
Lately it's been strange, sometime I caught myself playing with toys or giggling at silly jokes and my laughter being brighter and lighter, it's makes wonder if this newfound joy was a sign of reincarnation or just a reminder of how comforting their presence could be.
The more I leaned into my parents warmth, the more I felt that familiar childlike giddiness bubbling to the surface, as if having a parents around had unlocked a door I'd long forgotten.

When they hugged me tight, I feel warm inside, but I couldn't help wondering why they loved me so much. I was just me.
Sometimes, when they looked at me like the best thing in the world, I wanted to ask "what do you see?" Became I only saw a kid trying to sit, walk or talk.
I loved when they cheered for me. Every time they praised me for trying hard, I feel proud, but I often thought, what if I mess up? would they still care then?
Every night, they would tuck me in and they'd sit with me and read to me different stories and whispered to me "I love you". I'd think about how nice it was, but I always wondered what made me so lovable and why I matter so much to them.
But now it doesn't matter, as I have realized that even in my worst days, their hugs feels the same, and when they held my hand and said "we love you no matter what". That was the first time I really believe that I don't have to do anything special to be loved.
As mom and dad said "I love you just the way you are, today and always".

"Yes dad"
"What were you doing here alone again in the library"
"Do you love books that much"
"Yes dad I love it"
"Ok! if you like it then it's good "
"But for now would you like to come with me "
"Ok but where are we going "
"To your mom she called for both of us"
"Why? Did anything happen to mom"
"No don't worry nothing happened"
They reached to the door of the room that Vincent and Vivienne used as they got in Vivienne was sitting in the bed so Sabastian ran to her and ask
"Mama are you ok"
Seeing her sit in the bed Vincent as well came next to he and in a worried tone
" Are you feeling well? Is there any problem"
"Ok! Calm down you both nothing happens to me"
"The reason for why I call both of you here is"
She took both their hands and place it to her stomach and said
"Sabas you are going to be a big brother soon and Vince you are going to be a dad again "
Both widened their eyes in disbelief, and soon both father and son eyes were glittering with tears of joy streaming down their faces mixing with laughter as they realized the joy of welcoming a new life into their lives.
In that sweet moment, they wrapped their arms around her, their hugs tight and full of excitement, as the whispered how grateful they are for their growing family.
As both held Vivienne tightly, she wrapped her arms around both of them, whispering "It's okay to cry, we're embarking on a beautiful journey together; so let's celebrate this joy with happiness "
After caming down Vincent kiss Vivienne and said "thank you love for such a wonderful news"
Sabastian added " I'm going to be a big brother thank you mama, I'll take a very good care of my younger sibling "
When Sabastian look at Vincent he was very much suprise to see him cry and being so emotional. It was his first time as he may be loving and caring towards him and Vivienne but he was not very expressive.
Seeing Sabastian looking at Vincent so carefully Vivienne let out a little laugh. At that Vincent realised he had cry in front of his son and his son was also looking at him, he was little embarrass. Seeing him getting embarras he was even more shock.
"Do you know Sabas your father cried even harder than now when he got to know I was pregnant with you"

"Yes really " he stare at his father for a while and burst into laughter in which Vivienne join along soon after Vincent as well laugh with them.
Soon the news was sent to the parents of Vincent
Everyone was very happy and excited about the news.
Later that night
Today it was his father who is going to read him story but instead he ask his father
"Dad "
"Yes. What story should I read you today"
"Can I ask you something please dad"

"Did you really cry when you got to know mom was pregnant with me"
Vincent look at him for a while and just not his head"hmm"
"Even harder than today "
"Why what happened any problem with me crying " he said teasingly
Sabastian pull his blanket over half of his face and blush and said shyly "knowing you cried happy tears when you found out about me makes me happy. I'm so glad you were excited to be my dad "
After hearing that Vincent stayed silent as if he was trying to digest what he just heard, and then he gently padded his head and said "I'm really glad you feel that way. I really was looking forward to be your dad and I'm really glad you're my child".
Setting aside the book Vincent ask"Do you want to know something more about the time we got to know we were going have you"
He curiously and excitedly said "yes please"

"Ok" he giggle excitedly
" So it was 14 of Fallenleaf 748 when we got to know that your mother was 1 week pregnant with you, and I was not the only one who cried. Your mom had tears streaming down her face, she was so happy that she couldn't stop smiling and crying at the same time"
"Did mom cry a lot " he ask worriedly
"Yeah she did but on the next day she got so excited that it was like a switch flipped. She started to preparing everything like how she will decorate your room, choosing names and reading all the parenting books she could find"
"Did she feel nervous about having me?"
"Yes, but every time she feels nervous she'd talk to you makes plans, share her hopes for who you'd become, she spends hours imagining how it would he like to hold you, to hear your first laugh. I remember her saying 'I just want to be the best mom for our child'. Sometime she had moments of uncertainty. But what amazed me was that how she turned that doubt into motivation, it was beautiful to see her passion."
"That sound like her " Sabastian said with a nod, processing his father's words " What about you? How did you feel about becoming a dad?"
Vincent smile slightly and reply "to be honest with you I was thrilled but also terrified," Vincent confessed. "I worried about not living up to her expectations. But she always reminded me that it wasn't about being perfect. It was about being their for you, supporting you. That made it easier"
"Do you want to know something funny "
"Yes what is it" Sabastian ask
"Your mother made me read baby books aloud to her. We'd jokes that it was like getting a crash course on parenting" he said with a chuckle remembering the time.
Sabastian let out a small laugh imagining it "that sounds fun" he said with his eyes sparkling. "What do you think mama would say about me now?"
Vincent smiled, feeling warmth. "She'd say you're everything she hope for and more"
"Thanks, dad for telling me the story. I'm very happy knowing how much you both wanted me. It makes me want to do much better"
" We are proud of you, so just being you is more than enough," Vincent reply ruffling Sabastian hair "it's late now you should go to sleep"
"Ok good night dad"
