The mansion had never felt so alive, or chaotic. As Ryuto and his companions regrouped in the central hall, the mysterious spirit made its presence increasingly known. The air remained chilly, and faint giggles echoed intermittently, as if the ghost were taking delight in their every reaction. For Ryuto, this was shaping up to be one of the strangest mornings he'd had in weeks, a rare break from fighting cultists and monsters, but a different kind of challenge altogether.
The group had just finished retrieving the various floating objects the ghost had "borrowed" when a loud crash echoed from the dining hall.
"What now?" Roland groaned, gripping the hilt of his sword as they hurried toward the noise.
The dining hall was in disarray. Plates and cups had been knocked over, chairs tilted at odd angles, and a loaf of bread floated ominously in the center of the room. As they entered, the loaf launched itself at Roland's head, bouncing harmlessly off his shield.
