Chapter 8 - Aftermath of the Bite

Kian woke with a start, his breath coming in short gasps, his body slick with sweat. His heart thundered in his chest, and he sat up quickly, his hand instinctively going to his neck, fingers tracing over the faint puncture marks that hadn't fully healed.

The dream had been so vivid, so intense, it felt as though Viktor was still there, his cold hands, his lips, his fangs sinking into Kian's flesh.

But it wasn't just the dream. It was something more.

The room around him felt different, sharper. He could hear every creak of the floorboards, the soft hum of electricity running through the wires in the walls, the distant rustle of leaves outside. And there, even more unsettling, was the sound of Viktor's heartbeat.

It was faint, a low thrum from the other side of the mansion, but Kian knew it was Viktor. He could feel him, a deep tug in his chest, like their connection had somehow grown overnight, like Viktor was embedded in his very soul.

He swung his legs over the edge of the bed, his feet hitting the cold floor, and for a moment, the room seemed to spin. His senses were overloaded, the heightened awareness making everything feel too close, too loud, too overwhelming. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to steady his breathing, but the pull toward Viktor only grew stronger.

"Viktor..." Kian whispered, as if saying his name would somehow ground him. But it didn't. It only made the longing worse.

He needed to find him. Now.

---

Viktor sat in the dimly lit library, his gaze fixed on the flickering flames in the fireplace, his thoughts far away.

The bond had changed, deepened, and he could feel Kian's presence growing more prominent with each passing hour. It was dangerous, this connection, this pull between them. It was something neither of them could fully control. And that terrified him.

He had kept his distance since the bite, trying to give Kian space, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to stay away. His instincts screamed at him to protect, to hold Kian close, to never let him go. But he knew better. He knew the risks.

The door creaked open, and Viktor stiffened, already knowing who it was. Kian's presence was a force, strong and undeniable, pulling at the edges of his control.

"Kian," Viktor said, not turning around. "You shouldn't be here."

Kian ignored the warning, stepping further into the room. "I couldn't sleep," he murmured, his voice low and breathless. "I keep... feeling things."

Viktor clenched his jaw, his grip tightening on the arm of the chair. "You're feeling the bond. It's growing stronger."

Kian walked around to face Viktor, his expression a mix of confusion and frustration. "Why didn't you tell me this would happen? I feel like I'm going crazy, Viktor. I can hear your heartbeat from the other side of the mansion. I can feel you, all the time."

Viktor finally looked up, his red eyes meeting Kian's. There was a storm of emotions swirling in them, fear, longing, guilt. "I didn't want this for you. I didn't want to drag you into my world, into... this."

Kian's heart twisted at the sight of Viktor's vulnerability, but it also ignited a fire within him. He wasn't afraid anymore. He didn't want Viktor's protection or his distance. He wanted him, fully, completely.

"I'm already in it, Viktor," Kian said softly, stepping closer until he was standing right in front of Viktor's chair. "There's no going back for me now."

Viktor's gaze flickered, his fingers twitching as if he wanted to reach out but was holding himself back. "The bond between us... it's not something humans can handle easily. It'll grow stronger, more intense. And once it's too deep, there's no severing it. You'll be tied to me, Kian. Forever."

Kian knelt in front of Viktor, his eyes searching Viktor's face. "I don't care," he whispered. "I'm not scared of that. I'm scared of you pushing me away."

Viktor's restraint finally snapped. He reached out, his cold hand cupping Kian's face, his thumb brushing over Kian's lips. "You don't know what you're asking for."

Kian's breath hitched at the touch, his skin tingling under Viktor's fingers. "I know exactly what I'm asking for."

For a long moment, Viktor just looked at him, as if searching for any sign of hesitation, any indication that Kian might not fully understand what he was walking into. But all he saw was resolve, burning bright in Kian's eyes.

"Kian," Viktor murmured, his voice barely a whisper, thick with the weight of his emotions. "I can't hold back anymore."

"Then don't," Kian breathed.

That was all the invitation Viktor needed. In an instant, he pulled Kian into a searing kiss, his lips cold and firm against Kian's, yet filled with a passion that sent a jolt of heat through Kian's body. The bond flared between them, electric and undeniable, pulling them closer, binding them together.

Kian moaned softly into the kiss, his hands tangling in Viktor's dark hair, pulling him closer.

Viktor's hands roamed Kian's body, fingers tracing the lines of his muscles, feeling the rapid beat of Kian's heart beneath his skin. Every touch, every brush of their lips sent waves of pleasure coursing through Kian, his senses heightened to the point of near-overload.

"Viktor," Kian gasped as their lips parted for breath, his eyes dark with desire. "Don't stop."

Viktor groaned softly, his restraint slipping further with every passing second. He lifted Kian onto his lap, their bodies pressing together, the need between them palpable. Kian's head fell back as Viktor kissed down his neck, his lips brushing over the bite marks he'd left before.

"I need you," Kian whispered, his voice raw with want. "I need more."

Viktor's eyes flashed with hunger, and he leaned in, his fangs grazing Kian's skin. "Once I start... I may not be able to stop."

"I don't care," Kian panted, his fingers digging into Viktor's shoulders. "Please."

With a low growl, Viktor sank his fangs into Kian's neck, the bite sharp and sudden. Kian gasped, his body tensing at the initial pain, but it quickly dissolved into something far more intense, pleasure, overwhelming and all-consuming. His fingers clutched at Viktor's shirt, his hips bucking instinctively as waves of euphoria crashed over him.

Viktor fed deeply, the taste of Kian's blood flooding his senses, rich and intoxicating. It was like nothing he'd ever experienced before, Kian's blood sang to him, every drop a perfect harmony to his hunger, his desire. The bond between them pulsed with every heartbeat, growing stronger, deeper, until it felt as though they were no longer two separate beings, but one.

Kian moaned, his voice high and breathless, as the pleasure built higher and higher. His entire body was on fire, every nerve alight with sensation, and he clung to Viktor as if he might fall apart without him.

Viktor growled against his neck, his grip on Kian tightening as he drank, the pull of the bond overwhelming him. He could feel Kian's pleasure, his need, his desperation, and it only fueled his own desire. Their connection was unlike anything he had ever felt before, a perfect blend of power and vulnerability, of giving and taking.

As they neared the peak of their passion, Viktor's hands roamed Kian's body, pulling him even closer, their movements desperate and frenzied. Kian's breath came in short, ragged gasps, his body trembling with the intensity of the moment.

"I can't... Viktor, please..." Kian whimpered, his voice shaky as he teetered on the edge of bliss.

Viktor growled in response, his fangs still buried in Kian's neck, the taste of his mate driving him wild. With one final thrust of their connection, they both shattered, the bond between them pulsing with a power so intense it left them both breathless.

Kian cried out, his body arching against Viktor's as waves of pleasure crashed over him, his mind spinning from the sheer force of it all. Viktor groaned, his grip on Kian tightening as he rode the wave of their shared climax, his body trembling from the power of the bond.

Finally, Viktor pulled back, his lips stained with Kian's blood, his breath ragged. Kian slumped against him, his body weak and trembling, but there was a contented smile on his lips, his eyes heavy with exhaustion.

Viktor held him close, his arms wrapped tightly around Kian's trembling form. He pressed a soft kiss to Kian's temple, his voice a low whisper. "You're mine now, Kian. There's no going back."

Kian snuggled deeper into Viktor's embrace, his eyes fluttering shut as exhaustion took over. "I was yours from the start," he murmured, his voice soft and sleepy.

Viktor smiled, a rare and genuine expression, as he held Kian close.
