Marcus's brows furrowed, his jaw tightening as he stared at Richard. "What do you mean he knows we're here?"
"I mean exactly what I said," Richard snapped, his knuckles whitening as he gripped the steering wheel. "He knows."
Marcus blinked, his mouth opening slightly in shock. "But, how? We're using scent blockers! He shouldn't be able to pick up on us."
"I don't know," Richard replied curtly, frustration evident in his tone. "But this changes everything. We underestimated him."
Marcus leaned back in his seat, rubbing his temples in disbelief. "Unbelievable," he muttered under his breath. "We've been so careful. How could he possibly... "
"It doesn't matter how," Richard cut him off. "What matters now is keeping Kain safe."
