Synopsis
My life has never been eventful. I was always so average, I didn't have any achievements I could be proud of and tell others. Simply put, I was always the extra that were supposed to show how much better the people who are "good"

Chapter 1 - The Beginning.

Scientists say that once you die your brain will relive the 7 minutes of your happiest moments.

During this time I was thinking back to when I had a life.

My parents, my little sister, all those little things.

The time I watched my little sister take her first steps.

When we as a family would go out together and talk walks in the park.

Everything I ever did with my family.

If I was alive I would be sobbing with tears by now.

I still remember that day vividly. We were on our way to church as we were a Christian family. It was a sunny day and everything was fine. I was talking to my sister trying to make her laugh by making stupid faces.

All of a sudden I felt my entire body being thrown over as our car was smashed by a truck. Only I survived.

I always wondered why would God allow this to happen to me, no, to us. Ever since that day I never once believed in God.

My parents left me a small amount of money and a house however I had to drop out of high school to work.

The only thing that really comforted me were novels and books. Specifically that of the villian genre.

Everything they did was never on their own accord. Sure, they plotted deaths however it wasn't like they always were like this. Society shaped them into this.

I liked to think of villain's as people the hero simply couldn't save.

Ah, looks like my time is almost up. I could see my consciousness slowly closing. If I had one wish I would simply wish I had the strength to prevent my parents death.

"Where am I? I should have died, did I not?"

I found myself in a island devoid of any nature. The land was scorched and no animals were seen anywhere. It was almost as if a great battle was fought here once.

"Well, I guess nothing will happen if I just sit around. Might as well start exploring."

I decided to start walking in one direction. The more I walked the more the land was getting deformed.

After what I thought should have been at least half an hour I saw a building in the distance and decided to walk towards it.

Arriving I saw it was a church that looked like it was on the verge of collapsing.

"Why's there a church in the middle of a barren wasteland?"

During the time I was walking I thought of reasons why I might have been here. I knew for sure I had died so a few thoughts came to me. I thought I might have transmigrated or maybe this could even be a dream but for a avid reader like me I knew it would be more likely the first one would be true.

I felt that there wasn't anything else to be found on the outside so I entered the church.

Inside I saw chairs all lined up and a podium up top.

Curious I went towards the stage wondering what might be up there.

"Holy fucking shit." On the stage I saw 12 skulls arranged in a circle almost as if it was a array or something. No, it was definitely an array.

In the middle of the circle I saw a altar with a black sword that was stuck within it.

"What the fuck is this place?" I asked myself this heading towards the altar.

"All those who wield this sword will forever be damned." Under the altar had these words printed onto the floor.

"Wow, I'm so scarred..." Shaking my head I continued to observe the altar to see if I can find anything else.

"Looks like there's nothing else." I shifted my attention towards the sword that was imbedded inside. The blade was black and on the sword had intricate designs and symbols imprinted upon it.

The handle was sleek and even though this place had to be abandoned for a while the sword was gleaming with not a spec of dust to be seen.

I thought to pull out the sword but I felt that would probably not be a smart idea after all there were 12 skulls lying around the sword so it was most likely guarded.

"I mean... what do I have to lose? I've already died once so I might as well let my curiosity take over me." I gripped the sword's handle with both hands and used all my strength to pull it out.

Surprisingly enough the sword came out rather easily but then something happened.

The 12 skulls around me started to levitate and fly up and I felt I needed to leave.

I tried to break out but it was to no avail. The circle formed an invisible wall that didn't allow me to leave. I tried to break one of the skulls but no matter how hard I hit it just wouldn't break.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck. What the fuck do I do? Do I just wait for my death now or something?" The 12 skulls stopped going up and all of a sudden they disappeared and what replaced them were 12 ethereal figures.

"Well... looks like his sword has finally been found." One of them spoke, he was very handsome with sharp features that definitely could have made him a model if they were back on Earth.

"What do you think we should do about this." He continued speaking addressing all the other people.

"In this form we can't do anything but we can still send a bit of magic onto him." A new person spoke. It was a woman and upon looking at her it sent me breathless. In other words, she was drop-dead gorgeous however the feeling I got from her made me feel like she was very cold, like a eternal frost covered me.

The 12 ethereal forms looked at each other, as if they were speaking into each other's mind, and after a minute one of them said, "We agree."

Once they said this, a giant white circle appeared under me with engravings I didn't understand. I suddenly felt my conscious leaving me and just like that, I fell onto the ground unconscious.
