As the sun rose over our camp, news of my trials had already begun to spread like the wind. My pack whispered of the strength I'd shown, the trials I'd faced, and, most of all, the power that I was learning to control. This news did not stay hidden for long. Soon, wolves from other packs began to hear of it too.
Days passed, and one morning, a scout came rushing to me with wide eyes and an urgent message. "Cinder! There are wolves gathering near our borders. They're… they're different. Some look like they've been living on the outskirts for a long time."
My heart skipped a beat. "Living on the outskirts?" I repeated. "Do you mean the ones who were cast out, the ones who had no place in any pack?"
The scout nodded. "Yes, they are asking to see you, Cinder. They say they've heard of you and your strength, and they believe… they believe you could help them."
