Chapter 90 - Ch.90 Nick Fury's Scheme

Others might not know, but Ronan knew very well.

The title "Mr. Fantastic" was actually Reed Richards' nickname from the Fantastic Four.

Likewise, he was also the leader of the Fantastic Four.

However, in Ronan's world, he had confirmed multiple times that there were no mutants in this world!

Even the famous Fantastic Four had never appeared.

To confirm this, Ronan had once used a little trick to hack into the American database, comparing photos and names to look for any clues.

But aside from a forensic scientist who looked somewhat like him, there was no match.

Ronan even observed that forensic scientist for a while, but he was just an ordinary coroner.

In fact, last year, that coroner had died due to some incident.

Which means, Ronan could confirm there were no mutants in this world.

At least, not yet.

Still, using someone else's nickname felt a bit weird.

"Tch, no one would believe that their so-called Mr. Fantastic would haggle over 50 bucks."

Ronan hadn't expected that Wong had somehow learned to be sarcastic.

He had no idea which grand, charismatic, elegant, and suave person had taught Wong.

Given this level, he had to be at least platinum rank.

It seems a great teacher truly produces excellent students.

"Yeah, maybe Mr. Fantastic never thought that, in order to protect his lover, someone wouldn't even be willing to give up 50 bucks. Is that what they call true love?"

Ronan curled his lips; when it came to sarcasm, Wong still had a lot to learn.

Wong's face stiffened, and he couldn't help but glance at Sara Wolfe.

It was supposed to be about keeping their relationship a secret, but Ronan made it sound like it was about protecting a lover?

Although it wasn't exactly wrong, the meaning was very different!

Hearing this, Wong suddenly seemed like a scumbag who wouldn't even spend 50 bucks for his lover.

Sara Wolfe, standing beside him, suppressed a smile.

This was a "man's" war.

"Also, Mr. Fantastic might know a little secret about certain people."

"Originally, Mr. Fantastic planned to keep this secret, but now that he's unhappy, he no longer intends to keep it."

"Unless, of course, 50 bucks falls from the sky right now."

Ronan crossed his legs again, staring up at the ceiling.

Just like the first time he "extorted" Wong.

It really looked like he was waiting for money to fall from the sky.

Upon hearing this, Wong's face changed drastically. He immediately tried to cover Ronan's mouth, but Ronan nimbly dodged.

"Covering my mouth won't help—unless you have 50 bucks."

Ronan winked at Wong and extended his right hand again.

His meaning was clear!

Hush money, plus compensation for Wong's earlier sarcasm.

It wasn't much—just 50 bucks.

"Fine, I'll give you 50 bucks!"

With that, Wong hurriedly began fishing for money in his pocket.

But he seemed to be a bit slow, as Sara Wolfe directly pulled some bills from her pocket and placed them in Ronan's hand.

"I'll give you 100 bucks. Spill the secret."

Sara Wolfe smiled at Ronan.

Ronan's face lit up, and he immediately pocketed the 100 dollars.

Seeing this, Wong looked devastated.

"No!"

Wong was still struggling to stop him.

But it was too late!

"Seventeen days ago, at 5:48 in the morning, someone snuck out of their room and went to the laundry room."

"They were holding a pair of underwear."

After saying this, Ronan slipped through a mystical portal, disappearing in front of the two of them.

Wong's face immediately turned ashen.

Before leaving, Ronan had winked at Wong again.

Don't say I didn't give you a chance—I did you a huge favor as a brother!

Hearing this "secret," Sara Wolfe was initially stunned, but soon she realized something.

That was the night they confirmed their relationship.

But they hadn't spent that night together.

And Wong sneaking out with a pair of underwear the next morning... didn't that prove...

Thinking about it, Sara Wolfe chuckled, giving Wong a sly look.

Looks like it was quite an interesting night.

Ronan, ever the loyal brother, returned to his little apartment building.

After all, they probably understood that even if things got heated, they wouldn't do it in the villa.

Ronan just didn't want to be a third wheel.

By this point, he had arrived in another country.

He had a special delivery to make to someone.

This Christmas, aside from those who were affected by the explosion, there were others who wouldn't be getting any sleep.

Nick Fury sat in a safe house, staring grimly at a photo.

The photo was of Ronan during the Battle of New York—wearing an Iron Man helmet!

As Ronan had said, there were no surveillance images of him.

After all, Fury wasn't going to install cameras in his own office.

This was his office!

Sitting with him was Steve Rogers.

As for Black Widow and Hawkeye, they were both undergoing treatment.

"Captain, you've fought him head-on. How strong is he?"

Nick Fury shifted his gaze from Ronan's photo to Steve Rogers.

He wanted to hear his strongest soldier's assessment of this man.

However, Steve Rogers shook his head.

"Maybe I could hold him off for a while, but I'm definitely not his match."

"After all, when he fought me, he wasn't even using those mysterious powers."

"Especially..."

Here, Steve Rogers trailed off.

He didn't need to say it—Nick Fury could already imagine the fate of his agents.

The agents' bodies had already been sent for examination, but the reports hadn't come back yet.

But without exception, they were all dead.

"So, there's nothing we can do against him, is there?"

Nick Fury took a deep breath, his eyes full of unwillingness.

The last time he'd felt this helpless was during the Battle of New York.

That was also the moment Nick Fury felt most desperate.

Because if they failed, the entire Earth would be doomed.

"You should have the footage of that battle."

"If he used that move on us—the one he called 'Death Lotus'—how would we counter it?"

Steve Rogers was calm.

In his heart, he never believed Nick Fury was right.

According to Ronan, Nick Fury was the one who initiated the investigation into him, which prompted Ronan's response.

He understood Ronan's reasoning.

However, Ronan did kill S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Steve Rogers had no choice but to classify Ronan as a criminal.

"But what if we..."

"Used that weapon?"
